Photoinitiator packages based on bisacylphosphine oxide (BAPO) can enhance the speed and through-cure in waterborne polyurethane dispersions for wood coating applications. Specifically, water dispersed BAPO, which may also be used with an alpha-hydroxyketone/benzophenone blend, allows these resins to be cured with visible light, in the presence of light stabilizers and different pigments. Light stabilizers block UV light to prevent colour change both in the coating film and the wood surface. |
