Résumé : |
Manufacturers of high-quality paints and varnishes are increasingly expecting the pigments used to not only offer a colouring effect, but also additional value in the development of innovative formulations or to help optimise existing formulations. Thanks to new process technologies and the use of various production processes, Lanxess has succeeded in improving the functional properties of iron oxide pigments such that they provide added value in the overall paint system.
Lanxess makes use of the entire technological range in iron oxide production. Depending on the manufacturing process, iron oxides with differing particle structures can be produced. Modifications of the pigment surface and targeted doping in the crystal lattice are also possible. The interaction between the different methods of synthesis allows the colour development to be controlled in accordance with the customer's requirements on the one hand, and the production of pigments with specific properties that offer additional functionalities in terms of performance and process efficiency on the other. The following sections introduce current developments. |
