Résumé : |
This article examines the flaws of the current system of establishing and using specifications and testing. Because these flaws are so odious, a “better way” will be proposed in order to provide the end user real value in the use of protective coatings. Three tests will be discussed as illustrative examples of the flaws in the current system of using specifications and testing. These three tests are accelerated corrosion testing, pull-off adhesion testing, and constant stress, chemical immersion testing. Notwithstanding, this monograph will show how these tests, as examples of testing in general, can be used in a manner that provides the end user real value. |

- It all begins with the specification : Conventional wisdom specifications - Hand-me-down specifications - Common-use specifications
- Relevance : Either you have it or you don't
- Through all the arbitrary rationale
- Test data and the law of unintended consequences
- WAC-KY expectations, WAC-KY testing, WAC-KY specifications
- Not even close to the mark
- We've got to get together sooner or later because the revolution's here and you know it's right
