Résumé : |
It may combine the advantages of conventional powder coatings and uv-curing without the disadvantages, but can it penetrate the wood coatings market?
The authors discuss the implications of uv-curable powder.
UV-curable powder coating is a technology well suited to coating 3-dimensional objects in MDF. It combines most of the advantages of both conventional powder coating together with those of uv-curing without having the disadvantages - a sole exception being the difficulty of curing coatings in all colours.
For coatings on MDF, uv-powder has some special features that are difficult to achieve with other wood-coating technologies, such as wrap-around coating without butt-joins and the ability to make speckled coatings. |
