Résumé : |
The philosophy and chemistry of corrosion has made a great progress in recent years. The economics, safety & regulations of operating equipment and conservation of limited material resources cause seriousness of corrosion. The corrosion; vulture of metallurgy, is the biggest challenge before the world where 10-12 percent of the metal is lost. This loss can be mitigated by suitable coatings and timely inspection of the coatings with the available technology. The organic coating is the cheapest and simplest mode of mitigating corrosion if its selection and application is done judiciously. The interface between a metallic substrate and an organic adherent, be it a coating or an adhesive, is of crucial importance in determining the performance of that system. The problem should be full, understood and analyzed by those who are confronted with it, otherwise the preservation of corrosion will remain largely a question of "hit and miss" with more misses than hits. |
