Résumé : |
A novel base from malenized rice bran oil for paint stainers has been synthesized. The composition, cooking schedule and properties of malenized rice bran oil has been standardized. Novel catalyst sodium bisulphite and sodium bisulphate have been developed for malenization of oils. The malenized rice bran oil has been converted into an emulsion by using ammonia as neutralizing agent and additives like lecithin; tween 20 and ammonium acrylate have been used. This emulsion paste has been used as a base for formulation of stainers. The stainers were prepared in a laboratory pot mill. Three stainers viz yellow, red and blue have been prepared. They have been analyzed for their physico chemical and film properties. They have been compared with commercial samples available in the market. Our samples have reasonable intake of organic solvents and water. They are used in commercial white paint to the extent of ten percent. Our stainers do not adversely affect the physico chemical and film properties of white commercial enamel paint. The price of malenized rice bran oil emulsion is reasonable and lower than available commercial bases. The use of malenized rice bran oil emulsion is techno commercially viable propositions. The synthesis of malenized oil is a simple, controllable and commercially viable proposition. |
