Titre : Risk Analysis and Biocontamination Control – Hygiene Measures in Commercial Laundries Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : M. Heintz, Auteur ; J. Krämer, Auteur ; L. Vossebein, Auteur Année de publication : 2007 Article en page(s) : p. 274-280 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : RABC HACCP Textiles Laundry Hygiene Index. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : The requirements for general and hygienic cleanliness are steadily increasing. Therefore the textiles used in food industry as well as in other hygienically demanding areas have to fulfil certain hygiene standards. The assurance of these microbiological quality is of increasing significance. National and international standards, guidelines as well as laws in some European countries ask for a professional reprocessing and advise clearly against washing the laundry in households.
In commercial laundries the implementation of EN 14065 "Laundry Processed Textiles – Risk Analysis and Biocontamination Control System" (RABC system) ensures a defined microbiological quality of processed textiles. EN 14065 is published as a European standard and offers a powerful technique to perform a risk analysis and with it achieve any constant microbiological quality of expedition textiles. However, it does not contain any microbiological limits.
This paper focuses on microbiological limits and hygiene instructions in laundry processes to fulfil the requirements of hygienically demanding areas such as food industry. Therefore hundreds of microbiological samples were taken at relevant process steps in nine laundries before and after installation of the RABC system. Samples were taken from wet and dry textiles, textile close surfaces and the interior of hands of the employees. Additionally water samples were analysed and the disinfection effect of washing procedures was investigated with biomonitors containing Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecium. The results show that the RABC system can constantly improve and guarantee the hygienic quality of the expedition textiles. Laundries with RABC system can easily fulfil the needs of hygienically demanding areas like food industry. Limit and/or orientation values for almost all relevant process steps as well as recommendations for sampling are set up.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3203

Titre : Emerging role of the paint industry in improving human health Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Melrina Mascarenhas, Auteur Année de publication : 2001 Article en page(s) : p. 53-57 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : 'Matériau revêtement' Peinture 'Santé publique' Hygiène Antimicrobien 'Revêtement sol' Hôpital Insecticide 'Lutte antipollution air' Pesticide Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : For years the paint industry has been regarded as a polluting industry, with a negative effect on human health. However increasingly, research is being conducted to find ways to utilize coatings to give it an added value benefit of being hygienic in addition to its protective and decorative functions. Hygiene coatings that have anti-microbial properties, find use in a wide variety of applications including hospital paints, floor coatings, air-duct coatings, etc. These coatings have potential for various consumer and commercial applications which include hospitals, food process environments, pharmaceutical industries, public areas as well as private homes. Besides hygiene coatings, there are other paints that contribute positively to human health conditions. These include insecticidal paints, anti-allergenic paints and air-purifying paints. Thus the paint industry has evolved to meet human health requirements by providing products that can improve standards of hygiene in our daily living and working environments.
