Properties such as drying time, hardness, adhesion, flexibility, gloss, skinning tendency, impact resistance and chemical resistance of the blends were studied. Ketonic resin was blended with alkyd resin, and a significant improvement in adhesion, hardness, gloss , storage stability, acid resistance and drying time was achieved over that of the alkyd resin . Commercial method was adopted to prepare the blends. Properties such as drying time, hardness, adhesion, flexibility, gloss, skinning tendency, impact resistance and chemical resistance of the blends were studied. It was observed that, when ketonic resin was blended with alkyd resin, a significant improvement in adhesion, hardness, gloss, storage stability, acid resistance and drying time was achieved over that of the alkyd resin.
