The second objective was oriented, but equally valuable product attributes like raw material supply security. We have seen that hydrogenated hydrocarbon tackifiers offer a good value package for most high-end packaging applications. They compare favorably to tall oil rosin esters in terms of adhesive performance and offer advantages such as odor, molten stability, raw material and tackifier supply security, global supply and environmentally friendly process features. RhéologieIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Analyzing the development of new novel high performance emulsion pressure sensitive adhesives. We have developed a family of high performance acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) using a novel emulsion polymerization technology. These new PSAs exhibit an excellent balance of peel and shear performances. The base polymers of these PSAs are compatible with many traditional tackifiers and other additives that allow greater formulation versatility for paper and film applications. This paper presents the new base polymers properties, capabilities and highlights our recent work for the removable and repositionable PSA applications. The markets and technology in the PSA industry are growing rapidly. Due to the VOC concern, many of the new applications also utilize emulsion PSAs. To meet the challenging market needs, we utilized new raw materials, processes and new chemistry to develop new emulsion PSAs that have higher performance and better environmental compliance. Although generally, waterborne PSAs have some shortfalls in performance compared to solution PSAs, new technology is closing this gap. The versatility of acrylic chemistry and polymerization processes allowed us to design base polymers with unique properties. Note de contenu : I. New GELVA emulsion polymers

SilanesIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : The advantages of silane-modified polymeric binders have been recognized in coatings, adhesives and sealants markets. The increased accessibility of isocyanate silanes to the market will allow this technology to grow further, due to processing simplicity and applicability to a wide range of polymers.
The use of isocyanate silanes and polyols to make precursors for elastomeric sealants generally provides silylated polymers with lower viscosity than that obtained by other methods. easier formulation and mixing is one benefit.
As with conventional polyurethanes, the properties of these SPUR polymers can be tailor-made to range from low modulus to high modulus to meet the demands of different markets. These silane-terminated prepolymers may be used for formulating on-part room temperature moisture-cure sealants or adhesives with identified benefits such as superior adhesion performance, UV stability/weatherability and chemical resistance. Moreover, the characteristic of relatively fast cure makes the isocyanate silane-capped SPUR technology worth examining for insulated glass and automotive windshield sealant applications.
The aliphatic isocyanate groups of Silquest A-Link 35 and Silquest A-Link 25 silanes allow them to be used in the modification of a wide range of polymers that contain functional groups of OH, SH and NH2. The modification process can be carried out in different types of apparatus. The silane-modified polymers provide the enhanced mechanical properties, excellent adhesion and improved high-fail temperature in shear that can especially beneficial to hot melt adhesives.Note de contenu : - Preparation of sealants based on SPUR prepolymers
