Vaisselle -- NettoyageIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Measures to avoid unpleasant odours in dishwashers and washing machines entail improving the hygiene status by, among other things, achieving wash temperatures of >50° or 60°C. The development of a phosphate-free dishwasher detergent required a complete reformulation to ensure 100% product performance in washing and rinsing in systematic individual tests of the ingredients. Excellent drying of plastics is the biggest challenge in dishwashing. Excellent drying performance depends on the spreadability of the water droplets through the formation of a larger, evenly distributed water surface and the resulting removal from the plastic surface by water sheeting. Combining excellent defoaming surfactants with excellent wetting surfactants significantly improves drying performance on plastics. Note de contenu : - TABLES : Biomonitors of risk group 1 and 2 were tested in the same cleaning cycles in the diswasher
- FIGURES : Functions and ingredients of diswasher tabs - Phosphate-free builders reduce the carbon footprint by approximately 67 % - Amylase and protease work very effectively together in removing complex food residues (washing conditions : 30 minutes soaking - rinsing only - no scrubbing) - Excellent drying performance ofoptimised rinse aid formulations in warewashing machines

Volumétrie (chimie analytique)Index. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : 5-(3-Bromo-4-hydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)-7,7-dimethyl-7H-indolo[1,2-a]quinolinium perchlorate (Ia) was used as an indicator for anionic surface active agents determination in the manual direct two-phase titration according to the International Standard [ISO 2271:1989] Surface active agents. The solvatochromic dye (Ia) can successfully replace the recommended mixed indicator consisting of a mixture of Acid Blue I and carcinogenic dimidium bromide. The detection of the titration endpoint with use of this dye turned out much easier than with the use of the mixed indicator. The procedure was also modified replacing carcinogenic and mutagenic chloroform with less toxic dichloromethane. The concentrations of the anionic surface – active substances in few commercially available products were determined using modified two-phase titration method. Volumétrie (chimie analytique)Index. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : The work refers to the already published modification of widely used method for anionic active agents determination which concerns the replacement of the mixed indicator, consisting of Acid Blue 1 and carcinogenic Dimidium Bromide, applied in the International Standard ISO 2271:1989 with solvatochromic dye i.e. 5-(3-bromo-4-hydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)-7,7-dimethyl-7H-indolo[1,2-a]quinolinium perchlorate (1). The value of pKa for examined dye (1) amounts to 6.59 thus the influence of different pH values of the probes on the analysis results was studied i.e. precision of determination of titration endpoint and the same the result of the quantitative analysis. The change of pH for aqueous and apparent pH for organic phase were determined during the titration process. It was shown that there is no effect of the pH change in its range varying from 3.5 to 5 on the results. The modification of the method for the probes which pH do not fit to the range mentioned above is presented. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11120

SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : The gradually increasing detergents consumption in Germany since 1950 resulted in higher emissions of their ingredients to the environment. The first generation of mineral oil-based surfactants, tetrapropylene benzene sulfonate (TPS), exhibited poor biodegradability and caused public environmental concerns. These prompted Henkel in 1958 to start a systematic measurement of some main detergent constituents in the river Rhine in Germany. Since then, a number of monitoring activities regarding the determination of detergent ingredients concentrations and freights in rivers and waste water treatment plants (WWTP) followed. This paper summarizes 50 years experience at Henkel in monitoring of detergent ingredients in the aquatic environment. The long-term monitoring results on the river Rhine provides an impressive record of the development of the environmental burden by surfactant emissions and of the gradual improvement of river water quality over time. The reasons for the changes are discussed. Further monitoring activities on WWTPs have shown for the first time, that domestic wastewater treatment plants (DWTP) are similarly suitable for the removal of surfactants like municipal ones. The good removal of prominent organic detergent ingredients was shown by several time-proportional sampling campaigns in municipal WWTPs. Finally the positive impact of the modernisation of a municipal WWTP on the chemical and biological water quality on a small river creek is reported over the time period of 7 years. All of the reported studies indicate a low environmental burden due to the use of detergents ingredients today. The learnings from the different activities in environmental monitoring by Henkel have contributed to a solid understanding of the fate of detergent ingredients in the environment. This in turn was the prerequisite for development of reliable exposure prediction models. Today, Henkel employs both, environmental monitoring and modeling instruments, for assessing the environmental exposure of chemicals. TempératureIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Since 1959, Sinner's Circle has been describing the influence of chemistry, time, temperature and mechanics on the result of a washing or cleaning process in a qualitative way. With the recent opportunities of digitalization and design of experiment, these variables can now be refined and quantified.
On top of the appliance and the detergent, the digital knowledge about performance as a function of these multiple variables plays an important role. This will enable consumers to tailor and finetune washing and cleaning performance to individual needs and scenarios. These scenarios enable hygienic cleanliness while using resources in an optimal way and ensuring the best level of sustainability.
