Increasing popularity of plastics in industry demands improved coating technology Wetahlllty, swelllng, topography are the major characteristics of the plastic which affects the adhesion. The various pretreatment for the plastics like plasma treatment chemical, solvent treatment, flaming are the current means of improving adhesion. Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Using a modified torque technique, statistically significant differences in adhesion values were detected for waterborne model paints on wood as a function of moisture content, waterborne preservative, and after fungal inoculation. Change in a paint constituent sometimes resulted in a significant change in the adhesion value. The adhesion values of the alkyd emulsion paints tested decreased after inoculation with a blue stain fungus. On the contrary, the adhesion values of the acrylic dispersion paints tested became significantly higher after inoculation. Note de contenu : - Painted wood samples

Titre : Adhesion promoter : Water based emulsion paints-94 Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : M. Veeramani, Auteur Année de publication : 2022 Article en page(s) : p. 113-116 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Promoteurs d'adhésion
Revêtements en phase aqueuse -- Additifs:Peinture en phase aqueuse -- AdditifsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The adhesion promoter for paint is an additive to promote adhesion of the film to the substrate. It has an affinity for the substrate and the applied coating and forms a permanent and strong bonding. Adhesion promoters are bi-functional materials that increase adhesive strength between the coating and the substrate and sometimes are referred to as coupling agents. Unlike priming systems, adhesion promoters are generally applied at thinner film thicknesses. An adhesion promoter's effectiveness depends on both the substrate and the adhesive being used. Surface pre-treatments, such as solvent cleaning or mechanical etching and corona treatment, can be used with adhesion promoters as part ofa pre-treatment method. Within a class of materials, the functionality on the backbone of the molecule wi II vary based on the resin system employed as well as the substrate to which it is attached. Adhesion is one of the most important properties of both decorative and protective coatings. Many of the additives used in coating formulations can have a negative impact on the overall adhesion behaviour, even for surfaces that would not be considered difficult for adhesion. Avoidance of deleterious additives is preferred, but at times they are needed to impart other properties to the coating. Note de contenu : - How to achieve perfect coating adhesion ?

Titre : Adhesion promoters Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Vladimir V. Verkholantsev, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 52-60 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Adhesion is a phenomenon of holding together two bodies (phases) by intimate interfacial molecular contact. Such contact is based before all on physical effects (provided by intermolecular forces) and may include chemical bonding in the interface. Since both intermolecular forces and chemical bonds are relatively short range (a few angstrem), formation of efficient adhesion interfaces require good wetting, favorable near-substrate rheology, adsorption of active molecules onto film-substrate interface and possibly their chemical interaction, and a minimal presence of contaminants on the interface. A combination of ground selected adhesion promoter and suitable substrate wetting agent in a single coating formulation is normally the best answer to many adhesion problems.
