The proton-doped PACA-f functionalized CTGO (PACA-f/CTGO) exhibits excellent hydrophobicity and outstanding water resistance in waterborne epoxy polymer (WEP) coatings and better compatibility with WEP due to the formation of organic–inorganic networks. PACA-f/CTGO composite coating has a self-repairing function and shows superior corrosion resistance on Q235 steel. The surface-corrosion inhibition of PACA-f/CTGO on steel was investigated by molecular dynamics simulation(MD) which confirmed the chemical adsorption of the PACA-f/CTGO on the steel surface. The excellent water resistance and anticorrosion property of PACA-f/CTGO are ascribed to the high hydrophobicity of the hybrid coatings, the formation of intelligent passivation layer after the corrosive medium invading, and the barrier performance of CTGO. PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Development and growth of the adhesives market is related to the growing world population and wealth. People are searching for solutions to reduce reliability on scarce raw materials and to improve the carbon footprint of products thoughout the product lifetime. At the same time there is a continuing demand for improved performance, to extend the life time of products or allow for the development of new applications where adhesives could not be used so far.
Polyurethanes are highly versatile systems and they are, therefore, used more and more to produce high-performance adhesives and sealants. Adhesives facilitate lightweight design, improving fuel efficiency and reducing material use eg in transportation, electronics and renewable energy systems. Polyurethane adhesives are used on dissimilar substrates, such as composites, plastics and metal, where traditional joining is replaced by adhesive bounding.Note de contenu : - Background to advanced polyol technology

Revêtements -- Séchage sous rayonnement ultravioletIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : An advanced study of the use of instrument-resolved radiachromic radiometry to solve some of the difficulties presented by traditional radiometry in 3-D processing, roll-to-roll printing and coating, and ink jet printing. Elements of responsivity, dynamic range, and adaptability of various types of films are discussed. Commercially available films and experimental films are studied. Methods of correlation to produce a numerical measure of UV exposure are presented. These methods can be applied easily to laboratory characterization of materials and to production quality control. The principal purpose is to explore the use of standard instruments to quantify the response of radiachromic films in terms of transmission or reflection densitometry. This allows correlation of their optical density to instrument radiometry for (1) process design optimization and/or (2) periodic measurements to verify lamp condition over time. The most important conclusion is that, when carefully designed and used, radiachromic films can be a useful extension of – but not a substitute for – instrument radiometry.
