Titre : Colour design and non-image-forming effects in humans : An open issue Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Maurizio Rossi, Auteur Année de publication : 2021 Article en page(s) : p. 16-21 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 535.6 Couleur Résumé : Nowadays in industrialised countries, human beings spend 80-90% of their time indoors. Under these conditions the light, the colours, ie the perceived image, differs considerably from the outdoors. But this also influences the NIF (non-image-forming) effects on our nervous system, such as regulation of the circadian rhythm and other
physiological effects. The risks to health arising from NIF effects are highlighted. Even though extensive neurophysiological research has demonstrated the importance of proper NIF management for human health, use of the latter is virtually absent in the design practice. Therefore, we highlight the unresolved research challenges which
prevent the development of complete models, particularly useful in defining lighting and, above all, colours in indoor environments, to correctly manage NIF effects.Note de contenu : - Circadian system disorders and health problems

(Wikipedia)

Robots
Soins infirmiers en gériatrieIndex. décimale : 535.6 Couleur Résumé : With the population ageing in Taiwan, it is projected that elder care robots incorporating smart technologies will play an essential role in ambient assisted living. This research has two purposes: (1) to investigate whether older adults' colour-emotion associations and colour preferences for robot appearance affect their perceptual judgements ; and to explore gender differences in their judgements. Phase I of this research uses a questionnaire to investigate 91 participants' preferences for robot style and their emotional trigger words for the role of robots. Phase II experiments were performed on another 60 older adults to identify whether their colour-emotion associations and colour preferences affect their perceptual judgements. The research results show that, regardless of gender difference, participating older adults prefer a robot with non-human–like features. The results also show that there is no significant difference between males and females in terms of the effect of colour-emotion association on a robot's appearance. Older adults tend to associate warm colours with emotional semantics, such as friendly, comfortable, reassuring, gentle and lively. Preferred colours include red, white and yellow. Black and grey are almost never preferred by older adults. There are significant differences by gender in the preferences for the colours white and purple. Older females prefer purple more, while white is preferred by older males. For the other colours, there were no significant differences between males and females. Colour attributes do not have any effect on colour-emotion association, whereas colour preference is highly positively correlated with b*. Titre : Colour harmony of two-colour combinations using a 3D colour configuration Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Shi-Min Gong, Auteur ; Wen-Yuan Lee, Auteur Année de publication : 2019 Article en page(s) : p. 292-304 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Couleur Tags : 'Harmonie des couleurs' 'Configuration 3D' Index. décimale : 535.6 Couleur Résumé : Over the past few years, although many studies have investigated colour harmony, most of those used the planar colour configuration, which is not in line with the design requirements of real‐life products. Therefore, this study used 11 basic colours and five types of colour scheme techniques to derive 141 colour combinations applied upon a physical 3D colour configuration to observe the phenomena of colour harmony. The results show that colour harmony on a 3D colour configuration is different from that on a planar colour configuration, and can be divided into four phenomena: (i) lightness difference was found to determine the colour harmony while achromatic colour was configured with achromatic colour; (ii) lightness sum prompted colour harmony while chromatic colour was configured with achromatic colour; (iii) lightness sum and chroma sum were found to determine colour harmony while chromatic colour was configured with chromatic colour with a two‐colour hue angle difference >90°; and (iv) lightness sum and hue difference were a determination of colour harmony while chromatic colour was configured with chromatic colour with a two‐colour hue angle difference of ≤90°. On the basis of these phenomena, this study develops a colour harmony model based on the colour parameters, most of which are derived from the addition of the colour attributes of two colours.
