A stoichiometric amount of tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) was added as a crosslinker to the blocked polyisocyanate dispersions resulting in one-package crosslinkable, waterborne urethane coatings. The samples were characterized by means of mechanical properties, chemical resistance, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The deblocking kinetics of the blocked polyisocyanates at different baking temperatures were studied. Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A silver-cytokinin complex filler was synthesized by a mild thermal process; then, the complex was mixed with an aqueous emulsion paint as an antimicrobial filler. Coating films were prepared by a typical method using 0.254 mm applicator. The results of antibacterial activity measurements indicated that the films exhibited strong activities against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Values of the antibacterial activity (n = 3) were 5.7 and 4.9, respectively. As for the mixture of five kinds of fungi, after cultivation (n = 5), no colony growth on the film surface was observed by microscopy. From the appearance of the film surfaces, it was revealed that the silver–cytokinin complex filler for emulsion paints possessed better paintability and transparency compared to a commercialized paint filler. Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Hydroxyl acrylate emulsion was prepared firstly by the semicontinuous seeded emulsion polymerization, and then adding polyaniline (PANI)/Cu/ZrO2 ternary nanocomposites, two-component waterborne polyurethane (2 K WPU) composite coatings with antistatic and antibacterial properties were obtained by mixing the emulsion with hydrophilic modified polyisocyanate. The structure and morphology of the PANI/Cu/ZrO2 were observed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffractometer. The thermal, antistatic, antibacterial, anticorrosion, and mechanical properties of the 2 K WPU composite coatings were determined. The results showed that the addition of the ternary nanocomposites increased the antistatic, antibacterial, anticorrosion, and mechanical properties of the 2 K WPU coating. The initial decomposition temperature increased from 200 to 225°C, and the tensile strength increased by 44.4%. The coatings still maintained good impact strength of 50/50 kg cm, adhesion of grade 2, flexibility of 1 mm, pendulum hardness of 293 s, and the gloss (60°) of 119.4.

For some sectors, surface finish and aesthetics is equally important though current formulation methods can compromise the protective properties. A novel type of polyurethane technology based on polyamide soft segments produces high-quality finishes on wood, metal, and plastic substrates, and conforms to specific aesthetic expectations. The effects of the levels of silicone monomer and hydroxyl values on the film properties of the 2K WBPU coatings were investigated. Infrared spectroscopy characterized its structure. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used to study the surface morphology and the thermal stability of the film. The results showed that the performance of the coatings and the thermal stability of the film of 2K WBPU were improved after silicone modification.
