Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Standard wood/aluminium windows were treated with coating materials which were specifically developed to be used on weather-protected wooden windows. The windows were exposed to constant and cyclic humidity stress from the exterior side while the climatic conditions under the aluminium layers and the wood moisture content of the frames were monitored. The development of the wood moisture content in the window frames differed according to the water permeability of the coatings. Marked changes were monitored at different coating systems. On the casements high built coatings led to smaller changes in wood moisture content than low built coatings. The results can contribute to a definition of requirements for the properties of coatings for weather-protected wooden windows. Revêtements protecteursIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Wood/aluminium windows of a standard construction with different coating systems and different construction types of wood/aluminium windows without surface treatment were exposed to humidity stress from the interior side while the wood moisture content was measured. The results showed that coatings can promote the accumulation of moisture at the exterior side of the wooden profile. Medium-built coatings can provide a sufficient protection against interior humidity stress. Critical accumulation of moisture may occur in the glazing rabbet and in the contact region of wood with heat-insulating materials depending on the type of window construction. Résistance à l'humidité:Résistance à l'eauIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Consumers are increasingly aware that there is a further need for broad spectrum sun protection, and particular protec¬tion during times of heavy sun exposure. Every day, broad spectrum UV protection is necessary to keep the skin looking youthful and healthy. The category is growing, but there con¬tinue to be concerns regarding the effectiveness, safety, and aesthetics of the sunscreen actives.
The United States (US) has far fewer approved sunscreen ac¬tives than the rest of the world. Of those available in the US, some are not used due to lack of effectiveness and perceived toxicity. While the industry continues to wait for the FDA approval of actives used in Europe and elsewhere, an evaluation of underutilized Category 1 actives is important. Two actives that should be considered are the organic, water-soluble ma¬terials, ensulizole and sulisobenzone. Neither of these actives will work on their own, but both can be part of building innovative sun protection packages that please formulators and consumers.
Adaptive Cosmetic Technology Solutions Corp. (ACT Solutions Corp.), assisted in the development of a new broad spectrum, water resistant, SPF 25+ daily facial moisturizer. Specific ingredient selection and innovative formulation techniques were completed to produce this new formulation.Note de contenu : - Zemea propanediol
