Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The labelling regulation changes which will take place this year, for the biocides market, as well as products designed to minimise the effects of these changes.
It is abundantly clear that 2015 will be a time of great change for customers and raw material suppliers in the highly regulated European market. The ramifications of all these changes will have a major impact for customers and suppliers who wish to market and sell their products within the European Union. For those customers who want to be warning phrase-free under the CLP legislation the choice of actives will be severely limited coupled with an increased cost to treat. Additionally, only those suppliers who are listed on the ECHA list of approved substances, will be able to supply, whilst remembering that this list also limits active ingredients to product types as defined in the BPR. This will mean no more traders and 'free-riders :
Therefore, only prime manufacturers, which have invested in and have fully supported their active ingredients through the BPR and fully understand the legislation, will be the ideal partners with whom to build and discuss your future preservation requirements.Note de contenu : - TREATED ARTICLES : What are the requirements for treated articles ? - What information should be included on the labelling of a treated article ?

Silicone sealants are commonly used in the construction of domestic bathrooms and public sanitary areas. The environments where these sealants are used are prone to fungal growth. This can this be visually unappealing, a potential health hazard, and can cause structural damage. Some form of fungicidal protection is essential to avoid these problems. For the professional builder, the prospect of possible legal claims and related costs are reason enough to ensure that an efficacious fungicide is used. But there is less awareness about fungicidal protection in the DIY sector.Note de contenu : - Microbial growth : Silicone sealants

Chimie industrielle -- Aspect de l'environnementIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In a world of green revolution, only a little is left untouched. Biocide producers along with other parts of the chemical industry all over the world are currently focusing on projects to make their products more environmentally compatible and to promote their benefits and greener practices. Biocides are used in a variety of applications including paints and coatings, stucco/plasters, polymer emulsions, adhesives and sealants, inks, plastics, wood treatment and many more. The biocide producers have to cope with a highly variable demand of the biocidal product consuming industry, the heightened awareness of the danger of germ growth (bacteria, fungi, algae etc), increasing regulatory measures and fluctuating raw material costs. Regulations with regard to the production and application of biocides are affecting the biocide market in several way, as they are often restricting the use of biodical products and increasing the costs of the time-consuming support of biocides under new regulations. As a result, a couple of biocides are being withdrawn from some applications and traditional chemistries are being replaced with new products. While the regulations in Europe, America, Asia and other parts of the world are becoming more stringent, officials agree these changes will benefit the global biocide industry. Meeting the additional regulatory requirements will protect consumers and, in the long term, will benefit all stakeholders, customers and product manufacturers. Note de contenu : - Challenges ahead
