PhotoréticulationIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Light-curing cyanoacrylate adhesives offer processing and performance benefits for high speed assembly processes. These one-part, solven-free systems offer rapid cure of exposed and confined adhesive on bond joints without requiring the use of heat or racking of parts. Their processing characteristics allow manufacturers the rapid cure speed benefits of light curing acrylic adhesives with the ease of use and reliability of the cyanoacrylate secondary cure mechanism.
Since they are based on cyanoacrylate chemistry, these adhesives offer the high-bond strenght to a wide variety of substrates that can be expected from a cyanoacrylate. This combination of high performance with guaranteed complete cure offers manufacturers the ability to improve the robustness, output and performance of their bonding operations.Note de contenu : - Processing limitations addressed by light-curing cyanoacrylate adhesive

Tension superficielleIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Cycloaliphatic epoxide-functionalised polydimethylsiloxanes were coated onto a gel-coated fibreglass substrate and cured using two different light sources: UV light and visible light. Curing was accomplished through the use of an acid-generating photoinitiator, and a photosensitiser was used to shift the initiating wavelength into the visible region. The release potential, mechanical properties, surface tension, and contact angle of the cross-linked polymer were measured. The contact angle and surface tension of the UV-cured coatings were found to be 103° ± 0.05 and 10.93 ± 0.05mJ/m2, respectively. The contact angle and surface tension of the visible light-cured coatings were 102° and 11.42 ± 0.05mJ/m2, respectively. Pull-off adhesion tests revealed that a consistent 0.2MPa of normal force was required to remove the mould from both the UV- and visible light-cured coatings even after 30 releases. Both methods of cure offered the same release properties, but the visible light sample required a much longer cure time. SolubilitéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : For the first time, multilayer OLEDs with four solution-processed layers are fabricated step-by-step using slot die coating. A suitable choice of coating parameters and fluid formulation enables the application of different material classes as large-area homogeneous layers with thicknesses in the nanometer range. The AFM measurements of the slot die-coated layers consisting of small molecules showed Ra values of 0.21–0.28 nm, less than previously reported in the literature. Based on a two-layer reference OLED consisting of a HIL and EML, the stack architecture is first extended by a crosslinked HTL. These three-layer OLEDs with a crosslinked HTL achieve 70% higher efficiency, compared to that of the reference devices, thus assuming successfully separated layers. In a further step, an additional ETL is applied via the orthogonal solvent approach to obtain four solution-processed layers. The averaged power efficiency of the four-layer OLEDs is increased by a factor of 2.2 compared to the reference OLEDs up to a value of 3.5 lm/W. Based on these results, it can be assumed that both approaches, the use of orthogonal solvents as well as the application of crosslinkable materials, have been successfully combined to fabricate multilayer OLEDs with four separated slot die-coated layers. PolyadditionIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : The appropriate substituents have been added to a 7H-benzimidazo[2,1-a]benz[de]isoquinolin-7-one skeleton in order to obtain a one-component initiator system. The absorption, fluorescence, and electrochemical properties of these naphthoylenebenzimidazolone dyes and their usefulness as visible light initiators of free radical polymerisation of trimethylolpropane triacrylate were examined. The initiation efficiency of these dyes was compared with that of the parent 7H-benzimidazo[2,1-a]benz[de]isoquinolin-7-one in the presence of a coinitiator. Results show that these bifunctional dyes are able to initiate polymerisation without an additional coinitiator. Photopolymerisation studies and the relationship between the rate of polymerisation and the free energy change for electron transfer revealed that, depending on the concentration, initiating radicals are generated via intra- and intermolecular electron transfer.
