A binary micro-nano structure was observed on the surface topography analysis from the field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) contact angle measurements on the surface, for oil droplet was 85° which is indicative of stable oleophobic properties which might contribute to the low surface energy on the coating and also relate to the surface roughness according to the randomly distributed ZnO particles. We believe that such multifunctional coatings can potentially impose many promising properties for engineering superolephobic surfaces. Revêtement auto-nettoyantIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Surface that can repel both water and oily Iiquids known as omniphobic surface & Surfaces that display I iquid contact angles greater than 150° along with low contact angle hysteresis for Iiquids with both high and low surface tension values are known as superomniphobic surfaces. This includes superhydrophobic and superoleophobic phenomena. Omniphobic coating provide a surface that can repel almost ail liquids, in recent years, several strategies have been attempted to prepare omniphobic surfaces that repel both polar and non polar Iiquids.
In this review, brief synopses of superomniphobicity are described that include surface energy role, roughness, re-entrant texture using the Young equation & theories of Wenzel and Cassie-Baxter in fabricating superomniphobic coating. Review also covered the durability & applications of superomniphobic coating such as self-cleaning coating & corrosion resistance coating with recent development. Finally, conclude with a discussion of the unresolved challenges in developing of durable superomniphobic coati ng that defi ne the scope for further improvements in the field.Note de contenu : - BASICS OF SUPEROMNIPHOBIC SURFACES : Contact angle and the Young equation - Rough surfaces and the Wenzel and Cassie-Baxter models

Revêtements sans isocyanatesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : To improve the chemical resistance of non-isocyanate polyurethane (NIPU), two kinds of diglycidyl ether, bisphenol AF (E-AF) and perfluorooctyl glycidyl ether (PFGE), were selected to synthesize two different cyclic carbonates, bisphenol AF (EC-AF) and perfluorooctyl cyclic carbonate (PFGC), respectively. These cyclic carbonates were successfully used to prepare fluorine-containing non-isocyanate polyurethane coatings. The effects of PFGC amounts on the properties of NIPU were studied, and it was found that the contact angles of water, diiodomethane, and hexadecane were increased with the addition of PFGC and up to 106.7°, 80.2°, and 72.7°, respectively, whereas the pendulum hardness of NIPU coatings relatively decreased with the increase in PFGC contents. The NIPU coatings exhibited excellent flexibility, adhesion, and impact resistance. They also displayed good thermal stability with 5% weight loss temperature (T5%) ranging from 249 to 271°C. Moreover, these coatings possessed very low water uptake, excellent hydrophobic/oleophobic properties, and corrosion resistance properties. Surfaces (technologie)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A series of novel fluorinated polyacrylic acrylate oligomers with different fluorine contents were successfully prepared by acid–epoxy reaction between acrylic acid and a glycidyl methacrylate (GMA)-functional acrylic copolymer, which was presynthesized by traditional free radical polymerization in solvent with ethyl methacrylate, n-butyl acrylate, dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate, and GMA. The UV-curable coatings were prepared with various amounts of the obtained fluorinated polyacrylic acrylate oligomer. The influences of fluorine content on the properties of UV-curable films were investigated by the tests of hydrophobicity, oleophobicity, thermal stability, water absorption, hardness, and chemical resistance. The results showed that the water contact angle of cured films increased from 78.5° to 104.5°, n-hexadecane contact angles increased from 12.3° to 43.4°, the water absorption decreased from 1.27% to 0.63%, while the fluorine content of the cured films increased from 0 to 5.7 wt%. In addition, thermal stability and chemical resistance of the curable films containing fluorinated oligomer were also clearly improved.
