One of the most widely used silane coupling agents is 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (1). it is used in industrial applications, for example coatings and composites, to treat siliceous and other inorganic oxide (aluminium, titanium, etc) surfaces and microparticles for improving the adhesion and mechanical strength of phenolic, epoxy, urethane, polyamide, urea-forrnaldehyde and polycarbonate formulations. In advanced technology applications, particularly diagnostics, it is employed to immobilise antibodies, enzymes and DNA. Aminopropyltriethoxysilane is often referred to by the abbreviations APTES, AMEO, A-1100 or GAPS. The well-recognised commercial success of this technology has stimulated interest in further extending the property enhancement, particularly life-time, for more demanding applications.Note de contenu : - FIGURES : 1. SilanesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This paper reports on a novel self-matte or bulk-matte waterborne polyurethane coating composite with inherently extremely low gloss. The coating composite was comprised of a siloxane-containing waterborne polyurethane (SPU) resin and a crosslinked waterborne polyurethane (CPU) resin. The CPU resin was mainly responsible for fabricating the micro-rough surface of the film, which was achieved by a crosslinking reaction between the waterborne polyurethane and bisphenol A-type epoxy E-44 resin. The SPU resin was used to improve the comprehensive properties of the film, which was ascribed to the addition of silane coupling agent KH792. Compared with traditional matte coatings, this coating composite made it possible to avoid high loadings of matting agent and to arrive at highly flexible low-gloss finishes. Gloss levels of as low as a few tenths of a percent, even at high incidence angles, have been achieved with zero loading of extraneous dulling agent. The chemical structures of the SPU and CPU resins were characterized by FTIR-ATR and NMR spectra. The micro-rough topographies and surface rough degrees of the SPU, CPU and their 50%/50% composite films were measured by SEM and MSP, respectively. The particle sizes and particle morphologies of the SPU and CPU resins were imaged by TEM. Finally, the comprehensive properties of the SPU, CPU and their 50%/50% composite resins were evaluated, including the water contact angle, film transparency, tensile strength and storage stability.

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this article, a series of hybrid coatings were prepared and characterized. At first, polydimethylsiloxane modified with siliane coupling agent was copolymerized with acrylate monomers by free radical polymerization to get the hybrid resins. Due to the combination of covalent bond, the prepared hybrid resins were uniform and transparent. Then a series of hybrid resins were cured with tetraethoxysilane and dibutyltin dilaurate as the crosslinker and catalyst, respectively. The blends were loaded onto the substrate, such as tin plate, steel panels, or flat glass, and cured by heating to form hybrid coatings. To study the factors on the properties of the prepared hybrid resins and cured coatings, various measurements were carried out, such as FTIR, TGA, DSC, laser optical microscope, water contact angles, pencil scratch hardness, and the electrochemistry test. Thanks to the combination of covalent bond, the two components dispersed uniformly in the prepared hybrid resins and no cracks were observed from the cured hybrid coatings with an optical microscope. With excellent mechanical properties, thermal stability, corrosion resistance, and hydrophobic property, the prepared hybrid coatings can find application in the heavy-duty chemical industry. ThermocinétiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The low surface activity of graphene oxide (GO) stemming from its large conjugated electronic structure can easily affect the dispersion behavior of GO-based polymer matrices. This significantly undermines the properties of the resulting composite materials. Therefore, in order to increase the GO surface activity for use in polymer-based composites, GO was modified using silane coupling agent which was then doped into polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) polymer to prepare novel paints by sol–gel reaction strategy. The subsequent novel composite coatings based on PDMS/modified GO (mGO) were finally cured with tetraethoxysilane as the hardening agent in the presence of dibutyltin dilaurate catalyst. The effect of doping mGO into PDMS polymer was systematically studied using infrared spectroscopy, micro-Raman spectroscopy, TEM, SEM, XRD, TGA, mechanical test, thermal conductivity test, and the erosion resistance test. It was concluded that the phase compatibility between GO and PDMS was enhanced due to the new interconnecting chemical bonds brought about by the mGO in the composite.
