RhéologieIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Washing laundry at low temperature of only 30°C or even 20°C has big advantages : the significantly lower energy requirement benefits the consumer as well as the environment. In the meantime, single-dose liquid laundry detergents - so-called caps or pouches - are available that provide very good washing performances despite the low washing temperature. The sales growth for these products is especially large in the European market because caps are very easy and convenient to use by the consumer. The innovative caps contain highly concentrated formulations. This results in less weight, volume, and packaging, which is appealing to the consumer. All these properties are an excellent match for the e-commerce trend. In this context, BASF has formulated and tested laundry detergents that significantly improve the washing performance in the low temperature range. This article reviews Lavergy® Pro 104 L, an enzyme that belongs to the class of proteases, Sokalan® HP 20, a polymer that prevents graying and has a synergistic cleaning effect, as well as the rheological additive Rheovis® AT 120. With these products, BASF offers a system solution that achieves excellent results. Note de contenu : - Polymer-based performance booster

In test formulation B (TF B), the washing performance can be maintained using Sokalan HP 20 despite a 5% reduction in the active concentration of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) - 4. The graph clearly shows the additional cleaning effect the enzyme Lavergy Pro 104 L has on the washing performance. Despite lowering the washing temperature by 10°C (from 30°C to 20°C), the washing performance is significantl increased - 5. Even at the signifcantly shortened washing time, the cleaning performance of the formulation containing Lavergy Pro 104 L at 20° was significantly better than at 30°C - 7. Usure (mécanique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : An ultrafine-grained surface layer with the average grain size of about 28 nm in the surface layer was fabricated on a pure Fe plate by the surface mechanical attrition treatment (SMAT). Lower temperature aluminizing treatments of the SMAT samples were investigated by scanning electron microscope and X-ray energy dispersive spectroscope. The electrochemical corrosion behavior of the aluminized SMAT sample was studied in 0.05 mol/L Na2SO4 + 0.05 mol/L H2SO4 solution, in comparison with the original SMAT and the coarse-grained sample. The results showed that SMAT had a negative effect on the corrosion resistance of Fe. An aluminized surface layer was formed on SMAT sample by aluminizing treatment at 400°C, which was much lower than that of the conventional aluminizing treatment. A successive lower temperature aluminizing process made the aluminized layer thicker and continuous. The SMAT sample treated by a successive lower temperature aluminizing had much higher corrosion resistance and exhibited passive behavior, which was due to the formation of a protective passive film. Revêtements poudreIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Advances in low-temperature cure were introduced recently as well as powders capable of meeting high durability standards such as American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) 2605 and Qualicoat Class 3 (both require 10 years Florida durability).
To meet these specifications the coating must pass the following tests: dry adhesion, wet adhesion, boiling water adhesion, impact resistance, abrasion resistance, muriatic acid resistance, mortar resistance, nitric acid resistance, detergent resistance, window cleaner resistance, 4000 h humidity resistance, 4000 h salt spray resistance and 10 years South Florida durability with a maximum ΔE color change of 5.0 units and 50% gloss retention.
These architectural specifications represent the most demanding coating requirements for commercial buildings such as skyscrapers and stadiums. In addition, sustainable technologies are emerging based on either recycled plastic feedstocks or biobased raw materials. Moreover, binders exhibiting enhanced corrosion resistance and edge coverage have been recently debuted. Corresponding new developments have occurred in testing and application technology.Note de contenu : - Sustainability

Revêtements poudre:Peinture poudreIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The concept of using hyperbranched polymers as scaffolds for solid thermoset resin applications is described. A series of semi-crystalline methacrylate-functional aliphatic polyesters has been synthesized and characterized for applications as solid thermoset resin, e.g., powder coating resins. The polyester resins have been crosslinked by UV irradiation producing either amorphous or semi-crystalline crosslinked films depending on the initial structure. The resins are based on hyperbranched aliphatic polyesters onto which crystalline linear aliphatic polyester chains have been grafted and end-capped with methacrylate moieties. The resins exhibit a rheological behavior suitable for low temperature curing powder coatings, i.e., films that can be readily formed and UV cured at temperatures below 80°C.
