Pales d'éoliennesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : New design and material solutions are proposed for larger-scaled wind turbine blades as a highly effective way of reducing the cost of energy. The innovative blade design uses an asymmetrical skin and spar cap, which are proven to be very effective, reducing total materials and costs especially for ultra-large wind turbines blades. The new design tool was developed combining FAST by NREL and customized HyBlade and MMFatigue modules for a multiscale approach. In this article, four design cases are studied to demonstrate the new solution. C-PLY non-crimp fabrics (NCF) from Chomarat are now available in the market to accommodate such unique performance, especially for larger-scaled blades. Note de contenu : - Design studies
