Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Shiitake mushroom has been recognised throughout history for its youth-promoting benefits, even being ackowledged as an elixir of life. In terms of its application in skin care, a shiitake mushroom-based extract has been recently selected to provide rejuvenating and firming effects to the skin of the face, neck and décolleté. More specifically, Actifcol advanced botanical ingredient has shown to offer a holistic care of the collagen protein, by helping increase its synthesis, improve its quality, through the PLOD1 gene, and reduce its deterioration process caused by carbamylation. When evaluated on mature skin, it showed to enhance firmness and to achieve a more isotropic skin behaviour, typical of a younger skin. Note de contenu : - Microarray analysis

(Wikipedia)

Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Frankincense has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine to treat a variety of suffering. Now, the research group of Prof. Oliver Werz from the University of Jena (Germany), together with his American colleagues, has demonstrated that the highly effective boswellic acid AKBA from the resin of the Indian frankincense tree (Boswellia serrata) also has a healing effect in addition to the already known anti-inflammatory properties.
“InflammAging” refers to a chronic silent inflammatory process (inflammation) that develops with advanced age. In addition to the externally visible aging of the skin, painful signs of age-related diseases such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis often occur over time. This is the main field of application of the natural active ingredient AKBA from Boswellia serrata extract with extensive no side effects.
However, the promising therapeutic potential of the extract is limited by the insufficient solubility and bioavailability of the main active ingredient, whose water solubility is below 0.00045 mg/ml. By encapsulating the frankincense extract into Sopharcos’ nanoemulsion “Lipo-Tops”, the solubility can be increased by a factor of 22,000! In general, such formulations have shown that they can promote the absorption of lipophilic active ingredients and improve their bioavailability.
By using only natural edible raw materials, “Lipo-Tops Boswellin” can be used both for dermal application as well as for oral uptake.Note de contenu : - Frankincense - Boswellia serrata extract (BSE)

Taches pigmentaires (dermatologie)Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Fucoidans are unique fucose-rich polysaccharides naturally found in the cell walls of brown seaweed. They are highly bioactive compounds that play a pivotai role in protecting seaweed from water-borne pathogens and damage caused by ultraviolet light (UV). Extensive research has shown that fucoidan extracts can similarly impart protective effects on the skin and have diverse benefits in dermatological applications.
Fucoidans are highly branched, complex polysaccharides of varying size, typically with a high molecular weight. Fucoidans are characterised chemically using validated assays that quantify the sulfation, acetylation, molecular weight and the content of sugars in the carbohydrate 'backbone'.
Fucoidans differ in chemical structure and bioactivity depending upon the species of seaweed from which they are derived, and the method by which they are extracted. Australian biotechnology company, Marinova, specialises in the solvent-free extraction of organic fucoidan compounds from two fucoidan-rich species of brown seaweed; Undaria pinnatifida and Fucus vesiculosus.
The company's two high purity fucoidan skin care ingredients each have distinct benefits and bioactivities. Extracted from polyphenol-rich Fucus seaweed, Maritech Bright®, is a clinically validated brightening ingredient with powerful anti-oxidant properties. Proven to have protecting and soothing effects, Maritech® Reverse is extracted from undaria seaweed. Both ingredients have shown profound anti-ageing properties by inhibiting key enzymes responsible for skin damage and boosting proteins. The Maritech ingredient range is the only certified organic fucoidan extracts developed specifically for skin care applications.Note de contenu : - Enzyme inhibition
