Acrylic two-component (2K) urethane technology has undergone a gradual evolution over the past twenty years. Incremental changes in acrylic polyols and isocyanate crosslinkers have been, for the most part, driven by lower VOC content limits and increased performance requirements.
However, the basic chemistry of acrylic polyols has not substantially changed over that time period. Almost every acrylic polyol on the market today is obtained by free-radical polymerisation of acrylate and methacrylate esters and styrene. Hydroxyl functionality is introduced by adding hydro-functional acrylates (HFAs) to the monomer blend.Note de contenu : - Lower VOCs hits performance
