Revêtements protecteursIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Acrylic polymers are a suitable category of materials for application in building stone conservation mainly due to their peculiarities (i.e., easy to apply, low cost, good adhesive and cohesive properties, and high solubility in many organic solvents). The performances of polyacrylates have been improved through atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). Polymers were obtained with low polydispersity, controlled molecular weight, and showing better stability to UV irradiation than products obtained by radical polymerization. New poly(methyl acrylate-co-perfluoropolyethers) were also prepared via ATRP, using a perfluoropolyether derivative as initiator, showing the possibility of synthesizing copolymers between acrylates and perfluoropolyethers in common solvents. Protective efficiency of poly(methyl acrylate-co-perfluoropolyether) was close to that of commercially available products. By varying the composition of co-monomers, a series of emulsion polymers with the various glass transition temperatures (Tg) or water-soluble polymers with high oxazoline contents were prepared. The crosslinking reactions of these oxazolidine-functional polymers with waterborne carboxylated polymers were examined.
As a result, the oxazoline-functional polymers show sufficient reactivity and stability to be used as a low-toxic, one-packed crosslinker providing improved properties for waterborne carboxylated polymer. The pH value of the formulation has an important effect on its reaction rate and pot life. It was also found that the mechanical property of cured film can be controlled by selecting the composition of backbone polymer in the oxazoline-functional polymer. Furthermore, the performances of waterborne acrylic adhesives using these oxazoline-functional polymers as the crosslinker were discussed.Note de contenu : - RESULTS & DISCUSSION : Preparation of oxazoline-functional polymers - Reaction of oxazoline-functional polymer with carboxylated acrylic-styrene copolymer emulsion

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : Nano-Ti02/organic fluorine polyacrylate emulsion was prepared by using dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate (G04), modified nano-TiO2 , methyl methacrylate (MMA), ethyl acrylate (EA) as the main raw materials and potassium persulfate as the initiator. The structure of the emulsion was characterized by FTIR, TEM and UV, and the influence of nano-TiO2 and organic fluorine monomers on the application performance of leather was investigated.
The results showed that the organic fluorine monomers and nano-TiO2 participated in the copolymerization with acrylate, the prepared emulsion had a core-shell structure, and KH570 improved the dispersion of nano-TiO2 Compared with pure polyacrylate emulsion, the UV transmittance of the composite emulsion was obviously decreased. The contact angle of leather to water was about 131.16° after finishing with fluorine-containing polyacrylate emulsion, which showed good hydrophobicity. After adding the polyacrylate emulsion containing nano-TiO2 to finish the leather, the inhibition zone diameter of Escherichia coli was 5.1mm, showing good antibacterial properties. With the introduction of nano-TiO2 and organic fluorine, the applied properties of the finished leather were also effectively improved.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES : Materials - Prepartion of modified nano-TiO2 - Preparation of nano-TiO2/organic fluorine polyacrylate emulsion - Finishing technology of leather - FTIR characterisation of latex films - TEM analysis of emulsion - TEM analysis of emulsion - Contact angle of finished leather to water - Test of antibacterial activity of finished leather - Testing of the finished leather applied properties

ZéolitesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Multifunctional coatings that perform various actions simultaneously are now of prevailing importance, with zeolites being one of the most useful materials in this field. In this work, Na-P-zeolite was prepared from kaolin and subjected to a cation-exchange process to replace Na+ by Cu2+ and/or Zn2+ to achieve anticorrosive and antibacterial effects. In situ emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate-vinyl versatate (VAc-VEOVA) copolymer at the nanoscale with P-zeolite and Zn-, Cu-, Zn/Cu-cation-exchanged P-zeolites was then applied to obtain P-zeolite-(VAc-VEOVA), Zn-P-zeolite-(VAc-VEOVA), Cu-P-zeolite-(VAc-VEOVA), and Zn/Cu-P-zeolite-(VAc-VEOVA) nanocomposites. Anticorrosive and antibacterial tests were then carried out on films containing the different nanocomposites using laboratory accelerated testing, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and the disc well diffusion method with different types of Gram-positive (G+) and Gram-negative (G−) bacteria, revealing that the film containing the mixed (Zn/Cu)-P-zeolite showed the best anticorrosive and antibacterial performance. Silsesquioxanes oligomères polyhèdresIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Octavinyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (OvPOSS) was synthesized via hydrolysis and condensation of vinyltriethoxysilane. The structure of OvPOSS was determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance and 29Si nuclear magnetic resonance. A novel hydroxyl functional polyacrylate latex (HPA) with core–shell structure modified by OvPOSS (OvPOSS/HPA) was successfully prepared via emulsion copolymerization. Consequently two-component waterborne polyurethane (2K-WPU) coatings were prepared by using the as-prepared latex as hydroxyl components and hydrophilic polyisocyanates as curing agents. The structure and properties of OvPOSS/HPA were marked by FTIR, XRD, differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis. The results of FTIR and XRD show that OvPOSS has been successfully embedded into HPA, and OvPOSS occupies a homogeneous distribution in the HPA matrix. The effect of OvPOSS on the properties of OvPOSS/HPA as well as the application performance of 2K-WPU coatings film were also investigated. The results show that OvPOSS/HPA possesses core–shell structure with the OvPOSS core and enhanced thermal stability. The glass transition temperature (Tg) of OvPOSS/HPA with 2.0% OvPOSS content is 22.3°C, which is 8.4°C higher than that of pure HPA. The performance properties of the 2K-WPU coating films such as pencil hardness were also improved by incorporation of OvPOSS.
