The collaboration of the IPF and the IKV enabled the development of hybrid yarns specifically designed for processing in the fiber-spraying process to reduce inhomogeneities of local weight/unit area and fiber orientation in the preform. Polymères amorphesIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Most synthetic fibers commercially available are spun from polymers that develop a semi-crystalline struture upon fiber drawing. Fibers with a substantial degree of crystallinity are typically preferred, since amorphous fibers usually show limited tensile properties. Nevertheless, amorphous polymers can show interesting characteristics for optical applications due to their high transparency and low birefringence. Therefore, this article explores the highspeed melt spinning and drawing of amorphous polymers and analyzes the mechanical properties of the obtained filaments with particular emphasis on their bending recovery, a key property for the development of lisht-transmitting polymer fibers which can be processed into fabrics. Matières plastiques dans les automobilesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Monosandwich - It is some considerable time since the monosandwich method consisted in simply filling the core of a part with low-cost recycled materials. The use of optionally reinforced or foamed core material gives the part high rigidity and sound- and vibration-damping properties. For the skin, visually appealing materials with pleasant tactile properties are available. Note de contenu : - Passing the Dakar rally endurance test

Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Foam injection molding already saves material. But what about using post-consumer recyclate instead of virgin material to reduce the carbon footprint even further? KraussMaffei, together with the University of Schmalkalden, Germany, has investigated this question particularly with respect to what it means for the mechanical part properties.
