Les exemples de fils texturés par fausse torsion sont : Superloft®, Flufflon® et Hélanca®.Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Thermoplastic, melt-spun filament yarns are mostly textured for application in apparel, carpets and technical textiles to give the smooth yarn a bulky and thus natural fiber-like character with the resulting properties. The most widely used texturing process worldwide is false-twist texturing. During this process, the production speed is limited by the forces acting on the yarn. Especially in the case of spun-dyed yarns, the introduced dye particles cause weak points in the yarn where yarn breakage first occurs. To investigate these forces in the yarn, a numerical model is implemented which maps the path of the yarn through the twist unit in the false-twist texturing process. In this model, arbitrary friction disc speeds and geometries can be selected. The validity of the model is checked on a texturing test bench and evaluated on the basis of the yarn tensile forces upstream and downstream of the twist unit. The model shows deviations from measured tensile forces but reproduces the yarn path well. Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : The properties of partially oriented yarn (POY) and textured yarns in the aspects of crimp characteristic and tensile behavior depend mainly on the draw ratio and the D/Y ratio. This study comprises investigations of the effect of draw ratio on the crimp and tensile properties POY and textured fila-ment yarn. While there was noticeable change on tensile properties of both filament yarn by altering these parameters of draw ratio, primary, secondary heater temperature, tenacity increased and crimp contraction increased with increasing draw ratio. Teinture -- Fibres textiles synthétiquesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Polypropylene (PP) nanocomposite fabrics containing different types of modified montmorillonite (MMT) nanoclays were prepared by a melt compounding technique. Spinnable polymers were obtained by mixing PP master batches with 4 wt% MMT, possessing either tallow amine or tallow quaternary ammonium salt intercalating compounds with a pure untreated PP to MMT content of 0.5 wt%. After spinning, the prepared nanocomposites were drawn and knitted into fabrics for further testing and dyeing. The prepared PP nanocomposite fabrics containing hydrogenated tallow quaternary ammonium-based organomodified nanoclays exhibited higher colour strength (K/S) using vat dyes compared with those containing either octadecylamine or trimethyloctadecyl ammonium-based organomodified nanoclays and reference fabrics made from fibres spun without MMT clay content. The investigated vat dyes yielded relatively high K/S values on PP nanocomposite fabrics with very good to excellent wash, excellent fastness to bleaching with chlorine, perspiration, and good to excellent light fastness ratings. Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : This paper presents the application of conventional potassium aluminium sulphate wool mordanting and a biochemical method with silver nitrate (as antimicrobial agent and mordant), alone and in combination with oxygen plasma, as part of comprehensive research into pretreatment processes for wool dyeing with natural extract from pomegranate peel (Punica granatum L.) . Pretreatment with oxygen plasma significantly improved the hydrophilicity and tensile strength of all tested samples and showed that oxygen plasma can improve K/S , washing fastness, and even replace certain mordants in wool dyeing with natural pomegranate dye. All dyed samples exhibited good antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus , which can be contributed to the phenol content in pomegranate dye. Only after 28 days of intensive ageing in natural weathering conditions did K/S and antibacterial activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae slightly decrease in dyed samples pretreated with oxygen plasma.
