The product has been characterized by F.T.I.R., F.T.N.M.R., gel permeation chromatography and joyce loebl disc centrifuge for particle size. This cationomer has been used in the processing of chrome tanned sheep, full grain, semianiline dark brown nappa, 0.6-0.8 m/m leather. The product on application to the leather was found to be polishable since this P.U. cationomer contains not only a urethane linkage but also a carbiimino linkage. The physical properties of the finished leather have been reported and compared. Note de contenu : - Novel synthetic route for synthesis of PU cationomer : synthesis of dibromosuccinic acid

Tannage Résumé : Recently, the application of waterborne melamine resin (WMR) is greatly increasing in the leather industry because of its convenient operation, but it often suffers from poor storage stability. Here, two waterborne melamine resin retanning agents (WMRs) with high storage stability were prepared using melamine, glutaraldehyde and collagen hydrolysates (CHs) as raw materials at different mole ratios. FTIR, 13C-NMR and XPS were used to characterize the chemical structure of synthesized resins, and their retanning behaviors for wet blue and wet white leather were fully investigated. The particle sizes of WMR1 and WMR2 were 28.73 nm and 8.78 nm, and their zeta potentials were 4.0 and 4.5, respectively. The introduction of CHs provided not only good water solubility but also amphoteric properties to synthesized resins, thereby resulting in high absorption of retanning and fatliquoring agents. Moreover, the retanning application investigation of WMRs manifested good storage stability and excellent overall performance, which are comparable with commercial retanning agents. This work showed that glutaraldehyde and CH could be used as starting materials in the synthesis of environmentally friendly WMR. The synthesised dyes were characterised by proton nuclear magnetic resonance and elemental analysis. The thermal stability was examined by thermogravimetric analysis, and solubility was estimated in industrial solvents such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and propylene glycol methyl ether acetate. The dyes, which exhibited suitable physical properties for use in a dye–pigment hybrid colour filter, were fabricated into colour filters, and their optical properties were measured. Teinture -- Fibres textiles synthétiquesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Three series of phenylazo disperse dyes were prepared by coupling diazotised 4-aniline dyes with 5-indol-2-one dyes. The structures of these dyes were determined by proton nuclear magnetic resonance, Fourier Transform–infrared and elemental analysis. The effects of solvent on the ultraviolet–visible absorption spectra of these dyes were studied. The dyes displayed a λmax shift of between 399 and 438 nm. The dyes were finally applied in the dyeing of polyester fibres in order to investigate their colour range and dyeing properties. Most of the dyes displayed high rubbing fastness and good washing and sublimation fastnesses on polyester fibres. The water-based hybrid resin exhibited a single curing peak; the need for solvents was reduced. Compared with pure etherified melamine–formaldehyde resin, the hybrid resin had better flame retardancy and produced less pollution. Scanning electron microscopy and cone calorimetry were conducted, and the analyses revealed that lower binder resin concentrations resulted in improved flame retardancy and better char layer formation. When the binder resin concentrations were increased and CO/CO2 emissions were continued beyond 300 s, the flame retardancy of the intumescent coating was the same as that of the lower binding resin concentrations. Furthermore, the chemical structure and durability of the phosphocarbonaceous structure were verified through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance analyses.
