Revêtement en plastiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : "Next generation paint packaging", article is all about the latest development in the field of packaging. This article walks us through the water soluble plastics to PET coated steel. With these two developments, paint packaging in India can break the ice. These packaging materials are far superior from conventional ones and are easy to handle.
With the development of such packing materials, the door to recycling packaging materials and minimize waste generation.
Water-soluble plastic is manufactured from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), a biodegradable material. They are of two types cold water and hot water soluble plastics when dissolved in water, the water-soluble film breaks down to carbon dioxide and water. They have excellent resistance to oil, grease & gases but poor resistance to highly acidic and basic products. They are non toxic in nature. With all these known properties, how it can be used in paints has been briefed. This article is an insight to pack paint in flexible packaging is a challenge. This challenge can be overcome by use of polymer coated steel. This development is very much different from the conventional lacquers and has a superior performance. Polymer coated steel is coated with polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The thickness of the coating is 10-15 mic and works well with all sheet thickness. The biggest advantage of PET coated steel would be a holographic container that can be made.
With these two next generation packaging developments, the door can be open for innovative packaging. Let's create a difference with packaging.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10613

Son objectif est de produire des biens et services tout en limitant fortement la consommation et le gaspillage des matières premières, et des sources d'énergies non renouvelables ;

Polyéthylène téréphtalateIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Sustainability is the megatrend of our times. It is a challenge that often leaves us feeling powerless when it comes to achieving any quantifiable change. But time and again in the past the plastics industry has shown just how much innovative power it possesses. And the hype surrounding the circular economy is not mere utopia, it is a realistic goal. Surfaces courbesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Hot embossing is widely used to replicate micro-structures on polymer plate surfaces. The polymer parts of curved surfaces with micro-structures have important functions in various optoelectronic components. However, due to the high precision needed for embossing machines and mold manufacturing, achieving uniform pressure on curved surfaces during the embossing process is difficult. This study modified conventional hot embossing processes to develop an elastic bag embossing system (EBES) for replicating micro-structures on curved surfaces. The pressure equalizing properties of the elastic bag enabled uniform application of pressure on curved surfaces embossed with a general hot compression machine. For the EBES-assisted hot embossing process, a nickel stamper was attached to the elastic bag to compress and replicate micro-structures on the PC film covering the mold surface with single direction curve. This study also developed an EBES-assisted UV exposure process that used a PDMS soft-mold attached to the elastic bag surface to compress the UV curable photoresist covering the surface of the convex lens. Micro-structures were then formed by exposing the photoresist. Experimental results showed that the EBES with Ni stamper could successfully replicated micro-structures onto a 200 mm × 200 mm curved PC film and that the EBES-assisted UV exposure could successfully produced a 50 mm diameter fresnel lens on a convex profile with material of UV photoresist. Experimental tests of pressure-sensitive film showed that EBES enables uniform application of pressure on curved surfaces during the embossing process on standard hot compression machines. The experimental results confirm that the EBES developed in this study is an efficient and economical method for replicating micro-structures on curved surface. Simulation par ordinateurIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Wall thickness fluctuations often occur during the production of blown films. Spiral mandrel dies with adjustable nozzles can balance the volume flows and thus deliver more uniform film thicknesses. The Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) has taken the first steps to develop such a system. Note de contenu : - Approach : adjusting pressure losses
