The experimental method employed here involved the spraying of ink vertically downwards onto a paper, which was moving laterally. It was found that the percentage area of the covered surface increased with an increase in the height of the ultrasound atomiser from the surface and the vibrational amplitude of the atomiser, while the liquid film thickness on the coated surface decreased with an increase in the height of the ultrasound atomiser, vibrational amplitude of the atomiser and the linear velocity of the moving surface. Also, it was observed that the percentage area as well as the liquid film thickness increased with an increase in the liquid flow rate irrespective of changes in other parameters. The increase in the viscosity of the spraying liquid reduced the area covered by the spray for surface coating, while it increased the coating film thickness. Matières plastiques -- ThermoformageIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The aim of this study is to determine the thickness distribution of a food package using a non-destructive method. Initially, thickness measurements were carried out using an experimental procedure for thermoformed samples that were used for food packaging. Additionally, in this study, image analysis was used for the first time to determine the thickness distribution of the thermoformed products non-destructively. Image analysis software was employed for the estimation of thickness distribution. Measured thickness results were compared to those estimated using image analysis. Based on the results of the current study, image analysis may be an alternative method for non-destructive testing of thermoformed food packages even in a mass production line. Image analysis can be used to determine not only thickness distribution but also the weakest regions in a food package. Note de contenu : - Material and method

Water of varying hardness (quantifies of calcium, magnesium, iron compounds and of chlorides) was used in the process. Properties of fatliquoring emulsions containing waters of different hardness were determined. It was noted that emulsions were less stable in the presence of eiectrolytes. Generally, the average particle size of prepared fatliquoring emulsions increased if the water phase contained : calcium, magnesium, iron compounds and chlorides. The presented studies on the affects on tanned hides confirmed the desirability of using low hardness water without iron and chlorides. Note de contenu : - Preparation of fatliquoring

The emulsions produced at the two different temperatures (20 and 60°C) with distilled water (free from magnesium, calcium and iron compounds) were observed to have lower average particle sizes. In summary, a greater temperature and increased presence of magnesium, calcium and iron cause the average particle size to increase - 4.
Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Subjects - Protocol - Instrumental methods - Statistics
