Ressources renouvelablesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Polyurethanes, a major class of polymers conventionally derived from petroleum products, find applications in numerous sectors. Limited fossil resources, their extensive usage, large carbon footprint and alarming environmental issues motivated the research community worldwide in finding alternate and renewable routes for one of the key raw materials, polyols and isocyanate precursors. There are several reports available in the literature showing the techno-economic viability of bio-based polyols and hence polyurethanes. This article summarizes the synthesis of renewable polyols and polyurethanes thereof through utilization of various renewable sources such as vegetable oils, lingo-cellulosic biomass and other feedstock. The polyols obtained from different starting materials lead to variation in hydroxyl number and ultimately have a profound impact on the properties of polyurethanes. Hydroxyl groups are further classified based on their presence in polyols. Primary hydroxyl groups present in polyols hold the mechanical and thermal performance of final polyurethanes better. In this context, the recent advancements in increasing the primary hydroxyl groups in bio-based polyols through different chemical transformation has been focused on here. Moreover, the developments in the synthesis of polyurethane foam without the use of isocyanates have been considered as a green polymer. The ever-increasing demand in the market and the high potential of renewable sources will lead to further advancement in commercialization of bio-based polyurethanes. Revêtements:PeintureIndex. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Isocyanates are very reactive compounds and will react with any compounds like amines, hydroxyl, water, carbolic, phenolic, amide containing an active hydrogen atour. Polyurethanes are the reaction products of poly-functional isocynates and polyhydroxy compounds.
The physical and chemical properties of these coatings depend on type, functionality, and ratio of the reactants and curing conditions. Based on literature survey the choice of isocyanate required to produce a specific property depends on type of isocyanate i.e aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic. Some isocyanates are chosen for high thermal and fire resistance. The hydroxyl compound can be polyesters, polyethers, epoxies, alkyds, castor oil, hydroxyl, acrylics, partially hydrolysed vinyl copolymers, silicone resins.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/12gs55eK2l0ipFBhX9NPJzY2rzANoTVMh/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=24477

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Direct to Metal Coatings (DTM) is a rapidly growing segment of the coatings industry. This growth is related to cost reduction attributed to improved efficiency, time savings, fewer production steps and enhanced sustainability. These coatings are used in the heavy construction industry, building products and product finishing. Many of these applications require performance in demanding exposure conditions. Covestro has been able to provide solvent free aqueous polyurethane dispersions Bayhydrol which give the coating manufacturers a broad range of freedom to formulate their coatings and help them to surpass demands of current VOC and performance requirements.
