Index. décimale : 541.33 Chimie physique - Chimie des surfaces (Phénomènes superficiels) Résumé : Mixing hydrocarbon surfactants with fluorocarbon surfactants is still an important strategy to improve the economic benefits and performances of fluorocarbon surfactants and expand their range of application. Herein, we prepared a novel kind of hydrocarbon-fluorocarbon surfactant mixtures via mixing a cationic surfactant, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), with a tri-block nonionic short-chain fluorocarbon surfactant (F9EG13F9) in aqueous solution. The results showed that adding a small CTAB amount to F9EG13F9 (the molar fraction of CTAB in the mixture (x1) was 0.2) could greatly reduce its critical micelle concentrations (cmc) from 0.408 mmol/L to 0.191 mmol/L. At this x1, the contact angle of the mixture was the minimum (57.7 °) at 100 s on polytetrafluoroethylene film, which was even lower than that of F9EG13F9. Besides, CTAB/F9EG13F9 mixtures possessed better colloidal stability and solubilization ability toward hydrophobic dye (Sudan І) than F9EG13F9. The outstanding performances of binary surfactant mixtures benefited from the non-ideal mixing and strong synergistic effect evidence that CTAB/F9EG13F9 surfactant mixtures could be used in practical applications instead of individual F9EG13F9, thereby reducing the used cost of F9EG13F9. In this work, a series of super-structural 2D ultrathin carbon nitride/acrylate boron silane polymers (CNPs) was prepared by incorporating C3N4 into a self-polishing acrylate boron silane polymer (ABSP). The antifouling, environmental performances were evaluated, and the antifouling mechanism was investigated. The results showed that when the content of C3N4 was 3–7 wt%, the coatings showed the best resistance to diatoms, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in visible light. It was noted that the coatings showed weak antibacterial properties in the dark. In addition, the CNPs and ABSP were shown to expel mussels by photocatalytic active species, self-renewal and amphiphilic surfaces. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) values showed that the addition of C3N4 made the CNPs become environmental coatings. Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Modifying a surface to achieve a superhydrophobic characteristic has increasingly become an attractive approach to protect oxidation of metals and alloys. This review comprehensively discusses the state of the art of superhydrophobic surface modification with a particular focus on the corrosion inhibiting quality. Generally, there are two main approaches to induce superhydrophobicity, namely application of low surface energy coating and roughening of a surface to a binary micro/nano-rough structure. These strategies, which are often combined and found to complement one another, have been successfully demonstrated to provide corrosion-resistant improvement with moderate durability for a number of metals and alloys, including stainless steels, aluminum, magnesium, titanium, copper, and zinc. Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Nonwoven polyester (PET) fabrics have been extensively studied for various applications. However, the nonwoven PET fabrics have poor wettability. In this work, nonwoven PET fabrics were impregnated in a stable and transparent alumina sol that was prepared by the hydrolysis of aluminium isopropoxide using the sol–gel technique. The Al2O3 particles were coated on nonwoven PET fabrics after the rolling-drying process. The surface morphology of modified nonwoven PET fabrics was characterized by scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The SEM and AFM observations revealed the formation of the Al2O3 particles on the fiber surface. The Al2O3 coating was also confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The mechanical properties of the coated nonwoven PET fabrics were investigated using a tensile strength test, and the results showed that the mechanical properties were improved after surface sol–gel coating. The effect of Al2O3 on the wetting behavior of the fabric was also significantly improved.
