ParfumsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Fragrance is one of the most important aspects of personal care products, providing a huge degree of sensory input and in many cases creating the clearest point of differenciation between one product and its competitors. But as with many other areas of the industry, fragrances have been affected by the "free-from" trend, creating additional hurdles for formulators. However, there are also plenty of opportunities to use innovative, multifunctional ingredients that offer natural scent without issues of sensitisation. Formulating with fragrances can be problematic, and that is why there are several ingredients here to help make the task easier. Other issues include being able to mask the unwanted odours of other ingredients used as part of the formulation. This is just a small sample of the ingredients out there to help you formulate with fragrances. Personal Care will be keeping a close eye on the Fragrance Zone at in-cosmetics this year in Barcelona, and will report back in June issue. Note de contenu : - Perfume-free fragrance

ParfumsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Fragrance gives products an extra dimension and are a calling card for many brands. A high quality scent is difficult to imitate, as is its longevity.
Fragrances and their fixatives work in harmony to disseminate the scent and make it last for a long time on the skin, reminding the user of their indulgence. Solublilisers are also key parts of the process, ensuring that oils mix into aqueous solutions.
Another important aspect of the industry are development concepts, which help to show formulators what is possible with the latest ingredients from leading suppliers.
In this article we take a look at some of the ingredients and new concepts available to formulators seeking to make a real impression with fragrances in their products.Note de contenu : - Fragrance ingredients

ParfumsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Fragrance is a vital aspect to personal care products. The scent can transmit a sense of geography, luxuriousness, gender, mood as well as provide a signature fragrance that can act to enhance a brand.
However, new technology is starting to become an integral part of formulating with fragrances. As regulations tighten on the use of preservatives, more formulators are looking to use multifunctional fragrance ingredients that can also offer a level of preservation. Other ingredients offer fixative benefits to ensure long-lasting fragrance, while others mask the odour of other ingredients.
This round-up of current ingredients to aid formulating with fragrances aims to give formulators a helping hand through an area which can sometimes prove troublesome (particularly with natural fragrances) though equally can be highly rewarding.Note de contenu : - Antimicrobial

PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Leather manufactures will in future be able to supply products which not only feel and look good, but also have an appropriate - and long-lasting - fragrance. The new development consists of tiny (one to ten micrometer) perfume-filled polyurethane microcapsules, which are applied on the leather and release their fragrance when the leather is subjected which is only effective for a limited time, is that long-lasting fragrance effects can be obtained.
This development originated in response to requests from customers for a "typical leather smell". With modern leather tanning and finishing processes the end product has very little inherent odour, and ways were sought to reproduce the characteristic leather smell which end users so often want.Note de contenu : - Aromas to enhance the product
