Séparation (technologie)Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : This article adopted the optimum liquid membrane scheme to carry out an emulsion liquid membrane separation and to determine the amount of Cr(VI) in the finished leather. The experimental results reveal that the emulsion liquid membrane method can effectively separate Cr(VI) from the leather extract to remove the colour of the extract and also avoid the effects of Cr(III) being transformed into Cr(VI). It can determine the amounts of Cr in the pre-separating and post-separating solution, that is to calculate the amount of Cr(VI) in the leather sample. This method is accurate and easy to use. Its indexed recovery rate is 95.6% - 106%. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE : Experimental reagents, apparatus and equipment - Experiment

Note de contenu : - LES MECANISMES BIOLOGIQUES NECESSITENT LA PRESENCE DE METAUX

Séparation (technologie)Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Variability in the lipid content from one area of a hide to another has prevented accurate comparisons of the chemical compositions of hides. Since the various lipid constituents are the result of different biological processes and serve different purposes within the hide, the contents of certain lipids vary more than others within the hide. In these studies the lipid components were determined in each of five stratigraphic layers taken from 11 areas which represented about two-thirds of the area of the right side of a steerhide. There was considerable variability in the content for each lipid class, both areawise and stratigraphically.
The lipids on the coarse-clipped and fine-clipped hair were determined for nine areas, and these also showed considerable variability.Note de contenu : - Preparation of material

Vapeur d'eauIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Drying process paths, i.e., time-dependent trajectories of solution compositions on a phase diagram, were examined for coatings of a water-immiscible acrylic monomer dissolved in ethanol and exposed to humidity. The absorption of water vapor quenched the solution into a thermodynamic nonequilibrium state and promoted a spontaneous phase separation when the water content in the solution exceeded a critical value. A simultaneous mass-loss and heat-flux measurement technique was proposed and adapted for phase-separating coatings to determine the evaporation rates of two volatile components with different latent heats of vaporization. The measured drying paths agreed with those predicted from a drying model that takes into account the gas-diffusion-limited evaporation and composition-dependent activities. The numerical predictions also revealed that the pseudo-azeotrope determined the critical drying conditions, under which any drying paths on the phase diagram did not cross the two-phase region, and thus the drying solutions remained stable. Séparation (technologie)Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : This study addressed the analysis of aromatic amines from azo dyes and dyed consumer articles mainly based on leather as they are subjected to screening for release of any of the 24 hazardous aryl amines listed by the European agency. This study involves a reverse phase SPE approach for enriching, and cleaning-up of the matrices to facilitate further analysis by UPLC. The proposed study does away with tertiary butyl ether, other solvents and subsequent evaporation steps thereby cutting down the solvent usage to a major extent (from close to 80ml into 2ml) in sample preparation and the further analysis developed by UPLC, cut short the gradient analysis from 40 min to 6 min enabling additionally the reduction of solvent for mobile phase. Thus the procedure is improvised to serve as Green analytical procedure. The present study offers the scope to complete the sample preparation in 45 min in comparison to 180min by the official procedure (excluding the degreasing step in both these cases). The proposed procedure is simple to adopt with more efficient recovery values in the range 52-104% for all the analytes. The LOD and LOQ of the analysis were 2?g g -1 and 9?g g -1.
