Rubans adhésifsIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Not all PSA tapes are alike. When a pressure-sensitive tape is bonded to a surface, many different processes take place. Understanding these processes will help ensure that tapes are bonded correctly and perform as expected. The polymers used to make PSA tapes can behave as both liquids and solids, depending on the circumstances. It is the tapes’ liquid behavior that becomes important initially when sticking to surfaces. [article]
Titre : Hot-Melt system solution Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Nick Long, Auteur Année de publication : 2016 Article en page(s) : p. 11-15 Note générale : New melting technology provides savings by elimating traditional hot-melt challenges - Hot-melt adhesives have played a key role in the packaging process for decades, but traditional technology using heated tanks is less efficient when compared to new systems available today. Traditional melters are more likely to require char-induced maintenance than systems that do not incorporate tanks. Unplanned downtime and lost production due to this maintenance can cost businesses thousands of dollars each year.
New technology has eliminated many of the drawbacks of the previous generation of hot-melt adhesive equipment. This increases the working uptime of packaging lines and improves the efficiency of hot-melt adhesive applications. Advances in material usage monitoring and system performance result in better management of adhesive costs.Langues : Américain (ame) Catégories : Adhésifs -- Emballages

Souplesse (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Downtime—both planned and unplanned—can have a pronounced impact on packing line efficiency and throughput. This downtime, caused by film roll changes, registration errors, catastrophic film failures, bottlenecks, and more, is costly and may seem impossible to avoid. Taking appropriate steps to streamline processes wherever possible can help to mitigate the repercussions of downtime, improving overall line efficiency and thus profitability. Souplesse (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Polymers have been used in the formulation of adhesives for decades. In recent years, the technology base has been optimized and expanded to include a broader range of polymer chemistries. Polymers used for adhesive formulation include water-based acrylic emulsions and solid acrylics, urethane and urethane-acrylic dispersions, and solvent-based polyesters. This later technology is ideal for the lamination of filmic substrates used in flexible packaging. Today, polymers play a major role in the formulation of adhesives for a broad range of applications in other packaging markets such as lidding, labeling, and blister-pack, as well as industrial markets like automotive, general lamination, wood bonding, and consumer markets.
