Matières plastiques dans les appareils ménagersIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The chance of such a restart is probably not often. Following an insolvency, a classic injection molding company is rebuilt under new management into a high-tech manufacturing company and component manufacturer, which delivers its products just-in-sequence to its customers’ production lines. Some examples from the white goods world show how sophisticated process technology is today. As a strategic partner, EKT has brought the hot runner manufacturer Synventive on board. Note de contenu : - Close integration with the customer's production process
- Overmolding process increases ease of use
- Bypass for the soft component
- A strategic hot runner partner
- FIGURES : 2. Funnel-shaped micro filter sieve of a dishwashing machine. The stainless steel fabric is formed in the tool and subsequently overmolded - 3. Component air duct for a tumble dryer. Bypasses within the hard component allow for overmolding the front and back of the hard component with the soft component (sealing) simultaneously - 4. "Plug'n Play" hot runner system from Synventive. The manufacturer delivers the systems preassembled, with tubes and cables already attachedEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/187BpFrBH9eNfTJpLMUPThJIYznaK_ChH/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=29534

Résistance thermiqueIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The different thermal expansion of plastics compared with metals makes it difficult to design components that combine both materials. A new test procedure simulates in a time lapse the aging process of plastic-metal hybrid components when temperatures change. Using two contrasting test procedures, reliable information can be derived to assist in the designer. Note de contenu : - Varying thermal expansion
- Two test blocks with different characteristics
- Comprehensive tests provide indications
- Fig. 1 : In this complexly formed high-voltage rail for electric vehicles, copper conductors were injection overmolded with PPS. Dut to the many conductors and various screw points, weld lines are reacted that become weak points when the temperature changes
- Fig. 2 : The two test blocks that were developed for the heat cycle tests are made of metal and plastic. The version to the left was injection-overmolded from the side and shows weld lines ; the one to the righe was injection-overmolded from above with no weld lines
- Fig. 3 : An overview of the thermal portfolio of properties of the plastics which were investigated. No compound delivered optimal results, but ype A675GS1B provides at least good, and, in many cases very good, results for all dimensions

ThermodurcissablesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Technical thermoplastic materials have high thermal stability and outstanding electrical insulation properties, which is why they are already widely used in electrical applications. Where thermoplastics reach the limits of their performance, thermosets can offer an interesting alternative. The much debated disadvantage of the brittle fracture behavior can be avoided by skillfully joining them with thermoplastics in a 2-component part. Note de contenu : - Overmolding with thermoplastic materials in electrical applications
- New ideas about the use of thermosets
- Thermoset hybrid parts with metals and thermoplastics
- Fig. 1 : Exterior dimensions and schematic view of an overmolded sensor. The comparison between BMC, EP and PBT shows the higher shrinkage values for thermoplastics compared to thermosets, resulting in higher loading of the inserts
- Fig. 2 : Trials with electronic modules : The conductor plate (dark green) was completely overmolded with plastic (translucent) to allow the performance to be definitively tested
- Fig. 3 : The interface between PPS and BMC shows an almost uniform profile, which is reflected in a very good bond strength of the joint parts
- Fig. 4 : Micrograph of a BMC thermoset (bulk molding compound, light) on a thermoplastic polyamide at the fracture point of a tensile bar, produce by the transfer process
- Fig. 5 : 2-component hybrid component with thermolastic insert and thermoset overmolding produced with the "DuroVerbund II" project for the definitive testing of bond strength and leak-tightness

Matières plastiques dans les automobilesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Leoni AG of Nuremberg, Germany, is a well-known worldwide supplier of wires, optical fibers, cables, and cable systems. A subsidiary of the group of companies, Leoni Bordnetz-Systeme GmbH, produces four different housings for automobile fuse boxes on an Arburg flexible injection molding system. The challenge here is to reliably process up to forty elements per cycle. Note de contenu : - Each screw is aligned by a magnet in the mold
- Flexible automation with 100% test result
- Fig. 1 : Four housing versions can be manufactured on the turnkey system
