Waste bottles were collected in trash bins and granulated with a cutter. Neat PET (n-PET) was also was used to determine accurately the changes in the properties of r-PET. PET test samples were obtained by injection molding at 260, 265, 270, and 275 °C. DIC and FEM were conducted to detect the deformation behavior of the PETs under mechanical loading. The data showed that the behavior of n-PETs and r-PETs were similar, and the stress distribution was found to densify in various areas for both PETs. The mechanical properties generally increased with increasing processing temperature, the best mechanical properties being obtained for thPETs processed at 275 °C. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis showed that the morphology of all the PETs were similar. Thermal stability was also found to be similar. The rheological moduli of n-PET processed at 260 °C were the highest, while processing r-PET at 275 °C improved its rheological properties. Polyéthylène téréphtalateIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : During research, injection molded samples were prepared from recycled poly(ethylene-terephthalate) granulate, and their mechanical properties were investigated as a function of time. To understand the changes in mechanical properties, both morphology of injection molded samples and recycled granulates were investigated. A three-phase morphological model was applied for the evaluation of morphological properties while mechanical properties were determined by tensile and impact tests. Relationship was found between morphological and mechanical characteristics as a function of time elapsed since production. Crystalline ratio, tensile strength, and modulus of injection molded specimens increased while impact strength decreased in the four weeks after production.
Son objectif est de produire des biens et services tout en limitant fortement la consommation et le gaspillage des matières premières, et des sources d'énergies non renouvelables ;

Matières plastiques -- RecyclageIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Paint bucket or A-pillar finisher? In our thoughts and attribution of value, packaging items and high-tech components often represent opposites. Yet the two can complement one another – when you look at used packaging as a valuable raw material. At the fair, KraussMaffei will be showing the concept for a closed material cycle and is making plastics processing sustainable through this. The machine manufacturer will have three business units working hand-in-hand there: Injection Molding Machinery, Extrusion Technology and Digital & Service Solutions. Note de contenu : - Upcycling provides for premium-quality recompounds
- A-pillar paneling : no wrinkles and no visible edges
- Seamless traceability of each component's path through the process

Matières plastiques -- RecyclageIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : If plastics demand follows its current trajectory, global plastics-waste volumes would grow from 260 million tons/year in 2016 to 460 million tons/ year by 2030, taking what is already a serious environmental problem to a whole new level. As much as 500/0 of plastics worldwide could be reused or recycled by 2030 — a 4-fold increase over what is achieved today — and that also has the potential to create substantial value. Following that path, plastics reuse and recycling could generate profit-pool growth of as much as US$ 60 billion for the petrochemicals and plastics sector. For petro-chemicals and plastics companies — and by extension the chemical indus-try, since plastics production accounts for well over one-third of the indus-try's activities — this presents an array of threats and opportunities.
