Technique de la productionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Wind turbine blades are usually made of long fibre-reinforced composites. The reinforced fibres are processed into high-performance technical textiles made up of glass and carbon fibre material, almost exclusively so-called multiaxial non-crimp fabrics (NCF). Automating the process used to handle limp materials like NCF can reduce process uncertainties and increase quality. Two different manufacturing strategies for the automated production of wind turbine blaes are described in this article. Note de contenu : - Large area preforming

Produits antisolairesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Zinc oxide is a sunscreen ingredient for products that require formulations to have broad spectrum protection. Various particle sizes and coatings are available allowing flexibility in creating a sunscreen with a high SPF, PFA, and critical wavelength. Particle size can be varied to achieve optimal results and a wider range of product forms can be created. Surface treatments can help to improve the dispersibility and stability of zinc oxide in oils, esters, and aqueous systems. Note de contenu : - Manufacturing of zinc oxide

Renforts textilesIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Currently, the interest in basalt fibers as reinforcement fibers is increasing. Continuous basalt fibers are manufactured out of basait rocks. The properties of basalt fibers are similar or improved in comparison to the properties of glass fibers. Beside the high tensile strength and Young's modulus, the temperature and chemical resistance of basalt is emphasized. Furthermore, basalt is an inexpensive and extensively available raw material. Consequently, basalt fibers are considered as a new alternative reinforcement fiber. It is possible to feed basalt fiber rovings into extruders and manufacture short-fiber reinforced thermoplastics by injection molding. The Tailored Fiber Placement fabric as vvell as the basalt fiber/polypropylene (BF/PP) preform in the shape of a boomerang demonstrated that manifold textile application techniques are suitable for basalt fibers. Procédés de fabricationIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : This article gives information about the forms and applications of volcanic rock fiber (basalt fibers) for civil applications. Volcanic lava solidifies to produce basalt rock. The crushing of volcanic rock gives basalt fiber. Basalt fiber is light weight, has high strength and requires high temperature to melt. These inherent characteristics of basalt fiber make it more suitable for use in civil applications such as building bridges, highways and residential housing, and in the construction industry etc. Basalt is well known as a rock found in virtually every country round the flora and fauna. Basalt rock is more prolific in India (especially in Maharashtra), and the basalt fiber is available at a cheaper cost as compared to other raw materials such as synthetic and highperformance fibers.
