Surfaces fonctionnellesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The most sought-after properties of industrial polyurethane coatings - durability, scrubbability and chemical resistance - are decidedly utilitarian. By comparison, architectural coatings are most often judged by their looks - colour retention and low sheen.
While at first glance the focus of these two markets seems to be at odds, a Gloser look reveals that industrial polyurethane coating formulations offer a tantalising solution for commercial architectural applications ... a solution that is both utilitarian and good looking.
Sounds too good to be true ? Think again.
Industrial coatings manufacturers are already developing tailored products that enhance existing industrial coatings to address applicators' and formulators' desire to utilise them in the architectural coatings market.
The development of standards by the Master Painters Institute (MPI) and The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) is guiding evaluation and application of these high-performance coatings in a built environment.
But how did we get to this point and what comes next ?Note de contenu : - Industrial coatings - Primarily protecting

Traitement corona
Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The Calvasol method provides a flexible, economical, and efficient way to functionalize films with corresponding coatings. Compared to alternative methods, the applied layer thicknesses are in the range of 0.1 to 10 nm which reduces the consumption of chemicals and energy in processing. Note de contenu : - Avoiding high energy consumption for drying
- Treatment and coating in one process step
- Direct integration into the extrusion process
- Further development of functional chemistry
- FIGURES : 1. Schematic representation of the Calvasol method that combines the corona treatment and aerosol application. It is used for the permanent andi-adhesion, antifog or antistatic functionalization of films - 2. The aerosols are applied to the film from below. This has the benefit that the functional molecules can be anchored in a very thin and even layer - 3. The Calvasol system can be integrted directly into the lamination process with no negative influence on the lamination adhesive - 4. Measuring the contact angle of a film coated with and without Calvasol shows the influence of the Calvasol antifog function : The goal is to create a surface with maximum hydrophilic properties, indicated by a small contact angle in the measurement with water. The greater the contact angle (image on the right), the poorer the antifog effectEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/13hytvqc7_RbMNMMsWKL1MxA45wqXt11w/view?usp=drive [...]

Surfaces fonctionnellesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Control panels in which the functional and decorative layer is subsequently applied to the part by hot-embossing or bonding are imported in large quantities from Asia. In Switzerland, the IWK, together with some industrial partners, recently completed a project that shortens the production of such parts to one injection molding process, and thereby also makes them attractive for processors in Western Europe. Note de contenu : - High-tech in a high-wage country
- Injection molding, decoration and functional integration in one step
- The tail disappears in the mold
- Film design with disappearance effect
- Praise for the best supporting role
- Design ideas are realized playfully
- The panel becomes an HMI
