Mousses plastiques -- Moulage par injectionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Automotive supplier Pollmann uses an injection molding process to physically foam glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastics used in the production of electromechanical components that are installed in motor vehicles. The use of nitrogen as blowing agent makes the process more efficient and confers special properties on the components. An Inmatec generator in the Pollmann plant supplies nitrogen on demand and in the required amount. Note de contenu : - 4000 parts per shift
- Generator plus compressor system and buffer tank
- Payback period of about two years

- Fig. 1 : The injectionmold has four cavities. Corresponding to a set of housings (two front and two rear doors) for each vehicle
- Fig. 2 : Inmatec nitrogen generator. The tank on the platform to the right is the product tank (150 l), into which the generated nitrogen is first introduced unde 6 bar. The second module on this platform is the compressor system. The large tank on the right is the buffer tank (500 l), which contains N2 at 25 bar from here, the pipeline leads to the injection molding machinesEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y1DDOCV_rOK9PGPutt2dtR2oRuvQU04k/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34715

PolypropylèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : A core-back polypropylene foaming injection process using chemical blowing agents (CBA) has been studied. First, injection tests were carried out with two different CBAs and the different morphologies of the obtained samples have been analyzed. Structural parameters such as cell density and average radius size were calculated. Then, a bubble growth model was developed to predict the foaming development during the process, controlled by the depressurization of the mold cavity during the short core-back opening coupled with the evolution of the temperature during core-back and subsequent cooling. A good agreement is found between theoretical predictions and experimental results. Mousses plastiques -- Moulage par injectionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Thermoplastic foam injection molding - Savings in weight and material, dimensional stability plus higher productivity are aspects that fire the imagination of developers. All the more surprising is the fact that injection molding specialists have dealt with the physical foaming of thermoplastics rather hesitantly in the past. Especially in lightweight construction, the MuCell process offers great potential. Note de contenu : - Strategic mistakes corrected
- Plasticizing unit with gas injector
- Foaming the melt compensates shrinkage
- Comparison of chemical and physical foaming
- Investment costs pay off
