Note de contenu : - METHODS : Hair source - Shampoo formulation - Hair treatment - Fatty alcohol and lipid quantitation - SAXS/WAXS X-Ray analysis - Micro-autoradiography (MARG) measurements - Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) - Cryo-scanning electron microscopy (Cryo-SEM) - Single fibre measurements

In addition, there has been rare reports of self-healing of the protective coating having damage width wider than 100pm. In this study, self-healing performance of a microcapsule type self-healing protective coating on cernent mortar was studied for the coating with damage width of 100-300pm. The effect of capsule-loading (20wt%, 30wt% and 40wt%), capsule size (65,102 and 135pm mean diameter) and coating thickness (50, 80 and 100pm thick undercoating) on healing efficiency was investigated by water sorptivity test. Accelerated carbonation test, chloride ion penetration test and scanning electron microscope (SEM) study were conducted for the self-healing coating with a 300pm wide damage. Healing efficiency of the self-healing coating decreased with increasing damage width. As capsule-loading, capsule size or coating thickness increased, healing efficiency of the self-healing coating increased. Healing efficiency of 76% or higher was achieved using the self-healing coating with a 300pm wide scratch. The self-healing coating with a 200pm wide crack showed healing efficiency of 70% or higher. The self-healing coating having a 300pm-wide scratch showed effective protection of the substrate mortar from carbonation and chloride ion penetration, which was supported by SEM study.

Solutions aqueuses (chimie)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This study deals with a method of curing paint film at ambient temperature with a film-penetrative crosslinker. The method is based on the phenomenon that, after a wet coating film becomes thermoplastic, it is dipped in an aqueous solution of crosslinker. The crosslinker then penetrates into the film, and the film can be cured with the passage of dipping time. Herein an anionic copolymer containing diacetone acrylamide was employed as the main resin and carbohydrazide as the film-penetrative crosslinker. Cured films can be prepared with a short dipping time using this method. Excellent films were obtained when they were dipped in a suitable crosslinkers solution containing the proper organic solvents (accelerator of penetration rate) and an appropriate acid (promoter of the reaction). In particular, the adhesion after the water resistance test was excellent compared with that of the coating film obtained by the two-component coating method.
Nous proposons de nommer cette structure «base résistante ancrée dans la cuticule» (cuticle anchored resistant base, CARB).Note de contenu : - MATERIALS & METHODS : Hair samples - Chemicals - Removal of cuticles (decuticulation)- Denaturation of the cmc - Treatment with the dye - Observation by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) - Observation by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) - Measurement of the number of cuticle layers and penetration depth - Statistical analysis

VectorisationIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : - Objective : Cosmetic films and patches are interesting forms to promote skin penetration of active ingredients as they ensure their long stay on the treated zone of the skin. Nevertheless, currently developed films and patches are most of all hydrophilic and are not adapted to the hydrophobic molecules. The aim of this study was to establish whether nanodispersion of fatty acid-based active cosmetic ingredients (ACI) could be a manner to introduce high concentrations of those ACI in hydrophilic films.
- Methods : Punica granatum seed oil hydroxyphenethyl esters (PHE) constitute a commercialized lipolytic cosmetic ingredient obtained by enzymatic conjugation of tyrosol to long-chain fatty acids and to enhance its skin diffusion. Nanodispersions of PHE were prepared by a green emulsion-solvent evaporation process and dispersed in polyvinyl alcohol films. Raman imaging coupled to multivariate analysis was used to study the distribution of PHE in the films.
- Results : Nanodispersions of PHE combined with antioxidant vitamin E and stabilized by Pluronic® F127 were successfully prepared. The nanodispersions show a spherical shape and a hydrodynamic diameter close to 100 nm. Raman images analysis with multivariate approaches showed a very homogeneous distribution of PHE nanodispersions in the films compared to free PHE introduced as an ethanol solution.
- Conclusion : Nanodispersions of hydrophobic fatty acid-based ingredients seem to be relevant method to introduce this type of ingredient in hydrophilic film matrix. The co-suspension with vitamin E limits their degradation in time.Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Chemicals - Preparation of NanoPHE - Characterization of NanoPHE - Preparation and characterization of PHE-loaded PVA films - Raman imaging
