Breaking down the oxidation of unsaturated oil with hydroxybenzene [phenol] so as to prevent Cr(III) from oxidizing into Cr(VI) has been investigated.
In our previous work PVC sponge was used as a reactant carrier, taking advantage of the sponge's porous character similarly to that of leather. The oleic acid, chrome liquid and various phenols such as pyrocatechin, hydroquinone, gallic acid and pyrogallic-oleic acid were absorbed on to the sponge and then placed in a container at constant temperature and humidity to oxidize. The iodine value, peroxide value of oils and the contents of chrome(VI) were determined at regular intervals. The structural changes of oleic acid were analysed by IR.
The results showed that phenolic compounds had an inhibitory effect on the oxidation of oleic acid and so as to influence the oxidation of Cr(III) into Cr(VI) ; the greater the hydroxyl number of the single ring polyhydroxy phenol, the stronger the inhibitory effect on alpha-H oxidation, and the less formation of Cr(VI). When the hydroxyl numbers of the single ring polyhydroxy phenols were the same, the o-hydroxy phenol had stronger inhibition than p-hydroxy phenol ; meanwhile the structure change of olein acid indicated that Cr(VI) formation was mainly caused by hydroxyl radicals from a series of radical reactions derived from alpha-H autoxidation of oleic acid.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bYQvt56QHJMnuJOCuXGTdGF1c1LCg9uG/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8309

Titre : Dye wastewater treatment : photocatalysis and the synergies of photocatalytic oxidation with Fenton reagent Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Ding Shao-Lan, Auteur ; Cheng Chun-Lei, Auteur ; Wang Peng, Auteur ; Wang Rui, Auteur ; Liu Jing, Auteur Année de publication : 2009 Article en page(s) : p. 103-107 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Photocatalysis and the synergies of photocatalytic oxidation with Fenton reagent were used to treat the dye wastewater of Beijing Fanbo Science & Technology C., Ltd. Through the orthogonal experiment the optimal conditions of photocatalysis were obtained. Under such conditions, the removal rate of CODcr was 63 % while the removal rate of "chromaticity" was 70 %. In experiments on the synergies of photocatalytic oxidation with Fenton reagent, the optimal conditions were : H2O + FeSO4.7H2O2 = 12ml/l + 1,7g/L, TiO2 = 12g/L, the reaction pH was 3, qnc ghd photo-aeration time was 90min. Under such conditions, the removal rate of the wastewater CODcr reached 89,4 % while the removal rate of the chromaticity was 98 %, which was more than 50 % improvement on simple photocatalytic oxidation.
Dye wastewater may include dye production wastewater and the print/dyeing industry wastewater. At present aromatic hydrocarbon and heterocyclic compounds are the primary components of the dyestuff and they have colour groups and polar groups. Dye developments mean that their structures are becoming more complex and their properties more stable. This brings greater difficulty to the treatment of print/dyeing wastewater. Dye wastewater has various characteristics such as the complex ingredients, high chromaticity, high CODcr and BOD, suspended matter and a wide range of water quality and quantity with hard to degrade substances.
This wastewater is one of the more difficult to treat industry wastewaters. Take the CODcr of a dye user wastewater for example, it is usually between 500 and 1500mg/L while dye production wastewater is ussually over 10 000mg/L. According to the literature and reports, the decolouration methods for the dye wastewater are mainly biological oxidation process, hydrocarbonylation (chemical oxidation, photocatalysis and microwave synergy), adsorption, coagulation and electrochemical technologies. Fenton reagents hav become on much-discussed point. The Fenton method can be applied to the advanced disposal of the wastewater, the application of Fenton reagent and various improved systems in the wastewater disposal can be divided into two groups : one is solely as a disposal method to oxidize the organic wastewater ; the other is useed synergistically with other methods, such as coagulation sedimentation actived charcoal, biological process and photocatalysis.
Beijing Fanbo Corporation is a fur chemical material company. Its wastewater is the typical acid dye production wastewater and contains leather chemical materials such as surfactants in high concentration and grease. The dyes typically have a M.Wt of 400 to 800 and are monosulphonic. The range of CODcr in the wastewater may the from 1500mg/L to 160 000mg/L and the ingredients complex. As a chemical provider to fur factories, the production wastewater from Fanbo Corporation not only has the same wastewater from Beijing Fanbo Science & Technology Co., ltd., by the synergy of photocatalytic oxidation with Fenton reagent and expected to solve the problems of dye wastewater, such as high CODcr, high chromatiticy, hard degradation and high cost. The particular wastewater is considered to have a moderate COD and average levels of colour.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eKTkhSQeJMTDoRZwwjKKQcXeEOrdMjA4/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5939

Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Global environmental regulations are changing the leather industry. Conventional unhairing contributes most of the pollution in the industry, such as hydrogen sulfide and lime. Ever-increasing attention to the environmental impact of the leather industry has necessitated the development of enzymatic unhairing as a potent alternative to polluting chemicals. Enzymes are gaining increasing importance in the unhairing process, eliminating the need for sodium sulfide. This review discusses the enzymatic unhairing used in leather processing and introduces more information about enzymatic unhairing. This paper also summarises progress of enzymatic unhairing and looks ahead at its application prospect and development direction.
Produits chimiques -- PurificationIndex. décimale : 547 Chimie organique : classer la biochimie à 574.192 Résumé : Bacillus subtilis is a saprophytic bacteria which has a widespread distribution in nature and can be easily isolated from soil microbes. Bacillus subtilis AS1.398 is a major strain of bacillus subtilis used extensively in light industry and the pharmaceutical industry and is commonly used in the leather industry in China for depilation and bating. The non-collagenolytic activity of caseinase is correlated with the depilation. Collagenolytic protease has little contribution to depilation. It damages the collagen fibres and reduces the quality of leather. Collagenolytic activity should be inhibited during enzymatic depilation. Caseinase and collagenase were isolated and purified to homogeneity from commercial bacillus subtilis AS1.398 by affinity chromatography on the basis of modified hide powder as supporter. The purified enzyme had estimated molecular mass 44.3kDa determined by SDS-PAGE. Assays were also made on the activities of the two proteases. The specific activity of the caseinase showed a recovery of 42 %.
Tannage Résumé : To explore the mechanism whereby hydrosable tannins and the monomers hydrolysed from hydrosable tannins in preventing Cr(III) from oxidising into Cr(VI), we selected Valonia, Tara, plus monomers including gallic acid and ellagic acid as test samples to evaluate their complexing ability, reducibility, antioxidation ability and impact on preventing Cr(III) from oxidising into Cr(VI) as well as the relationship between their abilities and impact. With total phenolic value taken as a measurement basis, we took the equivalent quantity of every material based on its total phenolic value, and tested the effect on the same amount of Cr(III) and with the Folin-phenol method to total the number of the active phenolic groups, then we inferred the binding ability from the phenolic group activity. The complexation ability was determined by measuring the decrease of the phenolic value during a given interval in a system where we mixed every material with chrome powder and found the reducibility by using the absorbency method of K3Fe(CN)6 reduction, and analysed the antioxidation ability by DPPH. These abilities are major influential elements in preventing Cr(III) from oxidising into Cr(VI). The relationship between parameters was discovered. The main results were : generally speaking, that the complexing ability of these materials, in order from great to small, is in the order : ellagic acid, Tara, Valonia and gallic acid, which accords with their abilities to prevent Cr(III) from oxidation into Cr(VI) to a large extent. The reducibility and antioxidation effect of these materials from large to small is in the order : ellagic acid>gallic acid>Tara>Valonia, and this has a positive affect on preventing Cr(III) from oxidation Cr(VI) to quite a large extent. However, the order of reducibility and antioxidation doesn't accord with the order of ability to prevent Cr(III) from oxidising into Cr(VI).
