Résistance à la tractionIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The pattern of specific distribution of strength properties is presented on a basis of detailed testing of physical properties conducted on over 100 pigskins from the three breeds. The frequent occurrence of significant differences in strength properties was found in neighbouring sites within all topographic areas of pigskins. Microscopie électronique à balayageIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The pigskin structure in its four typical topographic areas, i.e. neck, croupon, butt and belly, was examined under a scanning electron microscope. It was found that the mort compact bundles of collagen fibres appear in the neighbourhood of looser and very loose structure. A degree of spatial weave compactness in pigskin, which is composed of locally situated various densities of fibre network, was related to a phenomenon of the occurrence of significant differences in results of basic strength tests for specimens cut out side by side from the same topographic part of skin. Matériaux -- FatigueIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this part of the paper we try to define the influence of leather compactness in four topographic areas tested in an electron scanning microscope, namely, neck, croupon, butt and belly, on a behaviour of pigskin leather under wear conditions. Fatigue tests in the range 0-20 % extensions and apparent density tests were performed. Total compactness of the structure was defined for tested topographic areas by means of loosening ability. It was found that the butt, commonly considered to be the most compact region of pigskin, shows the highest ability to loosening (apart from belly parts) under wear conditions. Lesser ability to loosening shows neck area and the least, croupon area. The results of apparent density tests confirmed the compactness of structure defined by fatigue tests in several topographic locations. - Table 2 : Student's "t" values for differences before and after fatigue (critical values with 5 % error risk in parentheses), fatliquored leathers
