The Zinc tanning agent could produce white leathers with properties comparable to the chrome tanning agent, and the tanning agents based on Zinc salts were prepared using different masking agents such as sodium formate, sodium acetate, sodium tartrate and potassium hydrogen phthalate. The selection of the zinc tanning agents has been optimized based on the properties like hydrothermal stability and percentage exhaustion of zinc. The results indicated that zinc sulfate can be used as tanning agent under acidic conditions (50g/L, pH=3, 25°C) and is an effective and superior method. Moreover, Sodium citrate (0.1mol/L) was selected as masking agent compared with other masking agents. The hydrothermal stability was improved effectively with the action of masking agent. Titre : Extraction, identification and free radical scavenging activities of collagen-derived peptides from yak hide Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Guo Song, Auteur ; Xiaoyan Pang, Auteur ; Qiaoe Wang, Auteur ; Wei Ding, Auteur ; Zhiwen Ding, Auteur Année de publication : 2022 Article en page(s) : p. 73-82 Note générale : Bibliogr.
(Wikipedia)

The enzymolysis conditions were optimised via a single-factor experiment and response surface methodology (RSM) using the FRSA as the optimisation index. The optimal enzymolysis conditions were as follows: the optimal enzyme was alkaline protease, the enzymolysis pH was 8.7, the dosage of alkaline protease was 8000U/g, the temperature was 50°C, the time was 5 hours, the concentration of substrate was 5%. The FRSAs of hydroxyl, DPPH and superoxide anion radicals of the optimally prepared YCDP could be up to 39.63%, 71.08% and 69.93%, respectively, which were higher than those of CDP prepared from cattle hide under the same conditions. Further identification analyses showed that the components of YCDP with lower molecular weight contributed more to the FRSA of YCDP.

Tannage Résumé : Perval 20 and Perval 30 are oxidized degraded products of valonia extract prepared using 20 % and 30 % H2O2 (w/w). Single-bath combination tannages of Perval 20 with Cr(III) or Al(III) and tanning using Perval 30 Cr(III) complex were studied. The combination of 1.5-3.0 % Perval 20 and 1.0-1.5 % Cr2O3 produced leathers with shrinkage temperatures above 110 C, so did the Perval 30 — Cr(III) complex in similar offers. The combination tannage of 1.8% Perval 20 and 1.5 Al(III) in a single bath produced leather of Ts = 96°C, 26°C higher than aluminium tanning. The more remarkable synergistic effects of these two products with Cr(III) and Al(III) are due to their increasing carboxyl contents, as shown in the paper. It could be seen that the reduced chrome and chrome-free tannages established here would be more practical because of simplified processes alike to chrome tanning and elimination of the vegetable tanned character of leathers.
