In India and around the world, agencies are in the process of implementing increasing limitations on the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC). These emissions are believed to be the primary cause for air pollution. A significant portion of the volatile organic compounds turn into emmissions in industrial and architectural paints. The paint industry has responded to this challenge by trying to replace solvent based coatings either with water-borne or high solid systems.
due to the high cost of water based paints, compared to the the solvent , people prefer to use the solvent based paints in poor countries like India.
In the present study, to minimise the amounts of the solvent, liquid epoxy resins having different moleclar weights were synthesised and used as the resin in paint and its various properties were studied.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Synthesis of diallyl bis-phenol-A from bisphenol-A - Synthesis of dipenta deca dienyl phenylol methane (DIDDPM) - Synthesis of epoxy resin having different molecular weights Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13191

Sitaram, Auteur Année de publication : 1998 Article en page(s) : p. 47-48 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : 'Peinture eau' Pigment 'Matière charge' Encapsulation Polymère Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : For the last few years, the reduction of polluting components in paints has become an issue of increasing importance, due to the fact public opinion shows a tendency towards the conservation of nature and its environment. This increasing environmental concern has led to more legal restrictions, to reduce organic solvent emissions in paints. Hence, organic solvents, as the most important Polluting component, need to be replaced. But the replacement of solvents by water in emulsion paints causes loss in gloss, agglomeration of pigment and extender particles.
In the present study clay (extender) was encapsulated by different polymers and used as an extender in 2EHA-MMA based emulsion paint. Different properties of emulsion paints are studied with respect to non encapsulated clay containing an emulsion paint.Note de contenu : - Experimental : - Clay encapsulated by melamine-formaldehyde resin - Clay encapsulated by MMA (Methyl methacrylate) - Clay encapsulated by HMDA 5hexamethylene diamines) and HMDI (Hexamethylene-di-isocyanate) Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13183
