ToucherIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Whether automobiles, shower bath fittings, or furniture handles : Surfaces with a metallic appearance are found everywhere. Mostly, the items are made of plastic that has been given the corresponding look – frequently by means of galvanizing, but also by means of modern chrome substitute procedures such as PVD, in-mold labelling or spray painting. For different component geometries, one or the other process is recommended. Note de contenu : - Real galvanizing and alternatives for "partial design"
- Astounding effects with PVD and film technology
- Chrome lacquers with mirror effect - and even with "cool touch"
- FIGURES : Optically difficult to distinguish : chrome lacquer (top, galvanized coat (bottom) - 2. GalvanoLu - an efficient process for translucent symbols in a real chrome surface - 3. The mirror effect only occurs if the applied chrome lacquer is max. 1 to 3µm thick - 4. Vanishing effects are possible by leaving out the black primer for the chrome lacquer - 5. The recipe for cool haptics with "CoolBrush" : A laser-structured mold and thermally conducting plastic plus chrome lacquer

ProductionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Pipette tips are small and relatively simple components that are now in high demand. One might think producing large quantities of these products is a simple task. It is not. The requested high quality can only be reached by using complex automation. To meet these challenging requirements, MA micro automation has developed a modular solution : Centauri IVD. Note de contenu : - Inspection on-the-fly
- A ten minutes buffer prevents production downtimes
- NOK parts are replaced by NO parts before the packaging starts

PolypropylèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : They are both a precision product and a mass-produced item used daily in laboratories across the globe: pipette tips feature a challenging wall thickness/length ratio, an inner geometry that is key for analysis results, and a tip opening just a few tenths of a millimeter wide. They have been in extremely high demand during the coronavirus pandemic, which is why the mold construction and hot runner specialist Männer has developed a mold with an innovative cluster concept. Note de contenu : - Stand-alone mold clusters with eight cavities each
- Precise molding geometry as the basis for accurate diagnostics results
- Digital mold memory
- Defined quality standards for a high degree of process reliability
- Qualification via camera eye

Matières plastiques dans les équipements électriques et électroniquesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : 3-D Capacitive Sensors - A glimpse into the car interior of tomorrow? The MyWave-3D development project presents touch-sensitive operation by means of capacitive fields on a convex, IML-decorated and backlit surface. This is made possible by means of a novel circuit board conforming to the part geometry and populated in 3-D. Note de contenu : - Printing process must allow for the subsequent deformation-
- LDS of the circuit board
- One microprocessor for three operating modes

Terpolymère acrylonitrile butadiène styrèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Ambient lighting has captured the car interior – and facilitated orientation for the passengers. There is no need for anyone to fumble for the seat belt buckle in the dark in the Audi A7, as an integrated light guide shows the way. Kunststoff Helmbrechts produces the 3-component part and also developed the tool concept. The trick: a so-called twin-turn tool which rotates on both sides. The company was awarded the GKV TecPart Innovation Prize for it at the K 2019. Note de contenu : - A small rotary plate on the fixed side
- Absolute uniform illumination necessary
- The scratch-resistant coating does not tolerate any cracks
- Figure : No need to fiddle for the seat belt buckle anymore : an integrated light guide provides orientation for car passengers. Nonetheless, the production process proved to be quite a task
- Fig. 1 : The inner contour and exterior cover of the light guide (in reality bot black, in the graphic green, and orange for better differentiation) cannot be formed in one process
- Fig. 3. Small rotary plate on the nozzle side : the twin-turn tool is also partly movable on the usually fixed side. The complete tool rotates on the ejector side
- Fig. 4 : The rotary plate does a 180° turn so that the freshly molded PC light guide ends up on the ejector side in station 2.
