Revêtements -- Industrie et commerceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Nanotechnology is considered to be one of the most important future technologies that will redesign the future of several technologies, products and markets. The availability of varieties of nanomaterials, various methods of assembly, application of nanomaterials, tailorability of material to suit for specific purpose and quantum effect of nanoparticles have been key for success. Because of its potential to change fundamentally whole field of nanotechnology, it will not only influence the technological development in near future but will also have decisive economic, ecological and social implications. The scientists are exploring the potential use of this technology in research with the ultimate objective of creating superior nano based coatings. This overview is meant for understanding the importance and implication of nanotechnology for the coating industry. Results indicate that the combined analysis of the hard segment cohesion helps in correlating the structure to property relationship. Note de contenu : - Introduction to Nanotechnology

Traitement par irradiationIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Synthesis of monoazo and disazo pigments by means of microwave (mv) irradiation has been investigated. As a medium able to cause the conversion of irradiation water was used. The results of pigments synthesis with the use ofmv energy were compared with the results of synthesis of analogical dyes obtained by means of the "classic" method. The carried out examinations showed that on the yield of the reaction with the use ofmv irradiation have an influence: the kind of diazo and coupling component, the microwave power and time of irradiation. In some cases the "microwave" method appeared to be the more efficient one as the "classic" method. Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this paper, we present a non-ionic, self-emulsifying cross linkable dendritic polymer used to disperse conventional alkyd resins (originally prepared to be solvent-borne) in water. The emulsions are obtained through the EIP (emulsion inversion point) method.
The emulsions are typically characterized by good shelf life stability and have been made at solids content of about 50% with a viscosity of 50-150 mPa*s.
Examples of paint formulations are given.
Effects of using Boltorn W3000
• Boltorn W3000 blends well with conventional alkyds and allows the making of alkyd emulsions with low amounts of external surfactant.
• Paint made on emulsions made with Boltorn W3000 has fast drying
• Paint made on emulsions made with Boltorn W3000 has good chemical resistance.Note de contenu : - Boltorn W3000
