Plastic/plastic hybrids - Plastics are conquering new ground which used to be primarily the preserve of metals. Hybrid structures comprising inserts made up of either fabric-reinforced or glass mat-reinforced thermoplastics or thermosets, with injected-on plastic ribbing, have the same load-bearing capacity as comparable structures in steel. |
