For over 30 years, Dacral SA has been selling high corrosion protection coatings at low thickness. Dacral SA had established itself as a market leader for zinc-flake coatings with its waterborne Dacromet. Recently the range of Geomet products has been replacing Dacromet. Geomet 321 has been developed in a low-VOC version with 3 to 5% w/w solvent. Dacral has been taking up an environment care challenge with a coating that offers corrosion protection and a consistent torque/tension relationship. The treatment of solvent emissions by direct or indirect combustion is not necessary, despite the severe European air regulations. There is no additional CO/CO2 pollution that normally results from the combustion of volatile organics. Inxel pigment preparations show effective compatibility in all acrylate resins that were evaluated. The jetness values were always comparable or even higher compared to the corresponding powder pigment. The strong blue undertone in mastone applications and very good rub-out performance in tint demonstrate the excellent stability of the pigment preparations. Beside these acrylate resins also tests in alkyd and polyester systems were conducted. Here as well, very positive results were obtained. Meanwhile, various preparations based on Degusa pigment blacks can be offered in different jetness ranges. Step by step the colour range will be widened.
