All systems go for white light / Martin Döbler in KUNSTSTOFFE INTERNATIONAL, Vol. 99, N° 4/2009 (04/2009)
[article]
Titre : All systems go for white light Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Martin Döbler, Auteur ; Christoph Klinkenberg, Auteur ; Rainer Protte, Auteur Année de publication : 2009 Article en page(s) : p. 59-62 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : LED optics - Polycarbonate with its optical, mechanical and technical properties is ideally suited for the manufacture of light guides and optical lenses for LEDs. For this reason grades have been tailor-made to provide very high transmission and extreme resistance to the white light from high-performance LEDs. Using a new cost-effective production concept developed at the same time, complex LED optics with large step changes in wall thicknesses can now be manufactured with high precision. Véhicules électriquesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The combination of injection compression molding, direct coating and partial film insert molding enables a novel design for the front module of the BMW iX electric vehicle. Important in the development were extensive trials carried out by plastics manufacturer Covestro in its technical lab. On the material side, a base carrier made of polycarbonate flooded with polyurethane proved to be a successful combination. Note de contenu : - Multicolor and with 3d depth effects
- Successful combination of fim, dc and injection compression molding
- Integrated heating function ensures ice-free sensors
- Experience from the technical lab makes it easier to set up mass production
- Simulations reveal the optimum filling pressure
- Multi-part production line with advanced processes

PolycarbonatesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Polycarbonate - There are great opportunities to use polycarbonate for optical components, such as non-imaging lenses with free-form surfaces for LED lights and motor vehicle headlamps. Thanks to newly developed materials with higher transmission and light-stable coloration, complex lenses can now be produced in excellent quality. At the same time, innovative process developments permit accurate, economic production of these lenses on an industrial scale. Note de contenu : - Advantages over PMMA and glass
- "Autolight" project
- Temperature measuring technology
- Excellent validation, geometry-independent modelPermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=16381
