Plastics in the automotive industry - Ever since cars were first built at the beginning of the last century, which was also the time that modern synthetic polymers first saw the light of day, the proportion of these materials in car production has constantly increased. One of the main reasons for this are the modern-day design specifications, many of which can only be met with polymer materials – and in particular, plastics. Plastics combine many unique possibilities with regard to design and function [1]. |
